Environmental Test Technician (GXP 2026-25242): Bowhead seeks a Environmental Test Technician to join our team at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Crane, IN. Have sufficient hardware experience to identify and solve hardware problems associated with design, development, and integration of high reliability systems.

<h2>Overview</h2><div><div><div>Environmental Test Technician (GXP 2026-25242):Bowhead seeks a Environmental Test Technician to join our team at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Crane, IN. The Technician will provide technical and engineering support services to the Strategic Systems Guidance, Navigation and Control Division. </div></div></div><h2>Responsibilities</h2><div><div><div>Essential functions to include: <ul><li>Manage test schedules along with assistance from technology/test item leads.</li><li>Support weekly status meetings with Prime Contractor and PMO personnel to coordinate schedules and report status of testing.</li><li>Schedule and submit test requests to appropriate test facilities/POCs for upcoming test.</li><li>Coordinate and assist with design, development, and fabrication of required fixtures for testing.</li><li>Interface with machine shop personnel as needed during fabrication of test fixtures.</li><li>Provide assistance in generating, reviewing, and approving test plans and procedures.</li><li>Transport and/or coordinate delivery of equipment to test facilities. </li><li>Interface with test operators and technology/test items leads to support setup of equipment for testing.</li><li>Monitor, execute and/or observe test as needed with assistance from test operators and technology/test item leads.</li><li>Track and co-aurthor Test Problem Reports and Test Summary Reports during and after each test.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul></div></div></div><h2>Qualifications</h2><div><div><div><ul><li>Bachelor's degree (preferred) from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline.</li><li>Must have three (3) to five (5) years technical experience working on high reliability systems.</li><li>Have sufficient hardware experience to identify and solve hardware problems associated with design, development, and integration of high reliability systems.</li><li>Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint</li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team</li></ul>Physical Demands:<ul><li>Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds</li><li>Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time</li><li>Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically</li></ul>SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES + Develop, implement and manage safety programs, policies and procedures. + Identify hazardous conditions/actions within the plant and recommend corrective measures. + Investigate all incidents and property losses. + Organize and oversee all required safety training, i.e. fork truck, lockout, new hire, etc. + Provide safety orientation to new employees. + Lead Management of Change on new equipment. + Manage DOT program. + Provide Supervisors/Production Shift Leads with safety training information for weekly and monthly safety meetings. + Track training to ensure compliance with Corporate Regulatory Task Schedule. + Identify gaps in safety training curriculum by analyzing injury/illness data. + Manage the Contractor Safety Program and ensure compliance. + Assist inspection personnel from insurance carriers, OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc. + Manage all federal, state and local environmental permits and ensure compliance. + Assist in purchasing appropriate personal protective equipment. + Prepare weekly/monthly incident summary reports. + Maintain OSHA 300 log. + Supervise safety teams. + Support site as safety mentor for visitors. + Review and make final determinations on new chemical requests. Maintain SDS sheets and electronic chemical tracking system. + Manage the administration of the workers compensation program. + Recommend and budget for safety capital expenditure items and annual safety budget. + Manage all property/casualty insurance claims. + Perform any other duties established by the Plant Manager. + Follows applicable ISO, Food Safety, and cGMP polices. + Other duties as assigned. COMMUNICATION SKILLS + Excellent written and oral communication skills necessary. + The ability to read, interpret, and create documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals is essential. + Must be able to create and present effective training presentations to individuals and groups of associates.
