An Escrow Assistant (Pre-Closing Specialist) is responsible for completing many of the tasks involved prior to the closing of a real estate transaction. This position serves as the initial contact with many internal and external parties including lenders, attorneys, buyers/sellers, real estate agents, and underwriters.

   Position Type: Full-time, non-exempt                      Reports to: Escrow Officer  Position Summary  An Escrow Assistant (Pre-Closing Specialist) is responsible for completing many of the tasks involved prior to the closing of a real estate transaction.  This position serves as the initial contact with many internal and external parties including lenders, attorneys, buyers/sellers, real estate agents, and underwriters.  Essential Duties & Responsibilities  <ul><li>Coordinates the collection of information and successfully communicates with all parties by phone and email </li><li>Examine Title Orders, Purchase Agreements, Title Exams, and other legal documents </li><li>Interview buyers and sellers for information necessary to the closing process </li><li>Enter information and notes into SoftPro </li><li>Review correspondence to ensure the pre-closing process is proceeding as scheduled </li><li>Obtain payoff statements and updates as needed </li><li>Coordinate closing date, time, and location with all parties </li><li> Assist the Escrow Officer with ensuring all requirements have been met prior to closing </li><li>Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner </li><li>Completes other tasks as assigned by supervisor and attorneys </li></ul>Competencies  <ul><li>Effective written and verbal communication skills </li><li>Customer service-oriented </li><li>Strong reading comprehension skills </li><li>Basic knowledge of Louisiana property laws desired </li><li>Basic research skills </li><li>General computer competency and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite </li><li> Attention to detail and accuracy </li><li>Ability to work independently but function within a team-oriented professional structure </li><li>Ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and prioritize in an environment with shifting timeframes </li></ul> Work Environment This job is located in a professional office environment and is eligible for occasional work from home.    Physical Demands This is largely a sedentary role, requiring use of typical office equipment such as a computer, printer, scanner/copier, and phone.     Required Education and Experience  <ul><li>Experience in real estate or banking desired</li><li>High school diploma or equivalent required </li></ul> Flexible work from home options available.
