The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Public Affairs Specialist, to carry out recurring public affairs assignments that include elements of media operations, social media, community engagement, command information, visual information, communication planning, contingency/crisis response, special event planning, environmental, and security and policy review. Examples of specialized experience include: Knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices of a public affairs program and written and oral communication principles, methods, and techniques to conduct and coordinate public affairs activities to develop communication between the agency and a variety of publics.
