Details: As a Part Time State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) you will work under the direction of a Case Manager/DON and are responsible for providing resident care to assigned residents in accordance with resident assessments, care plans and as directed by nursing management. The STNA works with other licensed care staff to coordinate the proper types of care to residents and strictly follows all Company nursing policies and procedures as well as safety guidelines.

POSITION SUMMARY: Bluestone Child & Adolescent Hospital is looking to hire Psychiatric Registered Nurses who will provide nursing care through physical and mental assessments, laboratory testing, plans of care and therapeutic treatments.  Psychiatric Registered Nurses must be knowledgeable about a wide range of disorders; cognitive, emotional, developmental, social and behavioral.  In addition, Psychiatric Registered Nurses will perform crisis intervention and participate in the department's performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.  The Psychiatric Registered Nurse position is a FLSA non-exempt role.RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:<ul><li>Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care considering patient age, diagnosis, and developmental level.</li><li>Perform nursing assessments on all patients and reassessments as per policy.</li><li>Adequately assess and reassess pain.  Utilize appropriate pain management techniques.  Educate the patient and family regarding pain management.</li><li>Formulate and implement patient plans of care; family is included when appropriate.</li><li>Revise plans of care as indicated by the patient's response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness.</li><li>Provide care appropriate to condition for pediatric or adolescent population.</li><li>Observe and communicate pertinent information regarding patient mental status and behavior, occurrences, abnormal lab/diagnostic results, and/or negative response to treatment or intervention to physician and/or appropriate health care team members.</li><li>Perform treatments and provide services to level of licensure.</li><li>Possess knowledgeable of medications, including psychotropic drugs, and their correct administration based on the age of the patient and their clinical condition.</li><li>Follow the seven (7) medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors.</li><li>Perform patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient's age and developmental level.</li><li>Engage in therapeutic relationships that focus on patient needs and provides a structured process for patients to reach objectives outlined in the plan of care.</li><li>Demonstrate the ability to perform crisis intervention and triage.</li><li>Ensure documentation meets current standards and policies.</li><li>Coordinate and supervise patient care as necessary.</li><li>Utilize verbal and physical de-escalation as warranted in order to keep patients safe and remain current in warranted certification and training.</li><li>Demonstrate all applicable competencies for the position and participate in periodic re-evaluation of such competencies.</li><li>Communicate appropriately and clearly to the Nurse Executive, co-workers and physicians.</li><li>Confer with members of the treatment team for the benefit of the patient.</li><li>Consult other departments as appropriate to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient's needs.</li><li>Treat patients and families with respect and dignity; provides emotional support.</li><li>Perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.</li><li>Support and maintain a culture of safety and quality.</li><li>Provide education to the patient and family concerning plans of care, compliance with the plan of care, medications and their side effects.</li><li>Function as a patient and family advocate at all times.</li><li>Orient new staff members and volunteers.</li><li>Demonstrate the ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.</li><li>Maintain a good working relationship within the department and with other departments.</li></ul>Powered by JazzHR
