The Practical Nursing Instructor is a Nights and Weekend faculty position at the Southaven Campus for the Practical Nursing Program. The Instructor provides students with instruction of the highest standards, evaluate student progress, assist in preparation of program documents and policies, assist in activities furthering the work of the institution, communicate necessary information to students, provide academic advice to students, serve on standing and ad hoc committees, and assist in maintaining the uniformity of the Practical Nursing program on all campuses. This is a 12-month faculty position reporting to the Director of Practical Nursing.QualificationsMust be a graduate of an approved School of Nursing. Must have an unencumbered RN license in Mississippi and must: Hold a minimum of an Associates Degree in Nursing. Have three years clinical experience working as a RN; or have two years experience as faculty in a nursing/allied health program. Job Overview:
The Safety & Security Manager is accountable for OSHA compliance, fire prevention, emergency preparedness, and comprehensive risk management within a 24/7 residential training environment. This role sets the standard by leading inspections, audits, incident investigations, emergency drills, and corrective actions to ensure full regulatory, contractual, and organizational compliance. We're seeking a leader who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in students’ lives by fostering a safe, secure, and supportive environment where students and staff can learn, work, and thrive. The Safety & Security Manager directly supervises senior officer(s), security officer/driver(s), and security officers, and is responsible for overall center security, safety operations, fire prevention, property protection, transportation, and fleet management in accordance with government, corporate, and management directives. While the primary schedule for this position is day shift, additional hours including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays may be required to support operational needs. The pay for this position is $55,000/year. Responsibilities:
Essential Job Duties:<ul><li>Plan, coordinate, and direct the administrative activities of the department.</li><li>Provide staff training, evaluate staff performance, and recommend and implement department and personnel changes as approved by the Center Director and coordinated with Human Resources Manager.</li><li>Develop and maintain safety, fire, and emergency disaster, and risk assessment plans in compliance with government and corporate directives.</li><li>Serve as the center safety officer, regularly conduct safety inspections to identify potential hazards, initiate corrective action, and prepare reports to cognizant agencies and management.</li><li>Oversee transportation of students and staff in center vehicles, as required.</li><li>Assist in development of departmental budget. Monitor budget; control expenditures; review and recommend changes to budget authorizations.</li><li>Develop and implement new and revised policies and procedures affecting the safety/transportation department and center safety programs; coordinate policy changes with other departments to ensure compliance with center objectives.</li><li>Regularly assess and audit department for contractual compliance and quality of services to students; prepare audit and assessment reports.</li><li>Develop and monitor shift schedules for 24-hour, seven days per week coverage; schedule substitute staff as necessary to ensure adequate coverage at all times.</li><li>Investigate all employee and student accident/injury accidents/injuries for reporting to insurance underwriter, DOL and the corporate office.</li><li>Coordinate with other departments on activities, problem solving, staff training, and interdepartmental programs regarding safety, security and transportation.</li><li>Maintain the security of buildings, vehicles, and property by ensuring doors, windows, lighting, appliances, equipment, locks, and emergency equipment are secured.</li><li>Test fire and safety systems and intrusion alarms; report malfunctions; ensure monthly fire drills are conducted and documented in compliance with government and corporate directives; ensure fire extinguishers are available in required locations and in working condition at all times.</li><li>Manage overall fire prevention and emergency response and serve as liaison with federal, state, and local law enforcement, and the fire department.</li><li>Provide fire and safety procedures and literature to staff and students; develop and implement orientation and in-service training programs for staff and students; train staff on OSHA standards.</li><li>Conduct searches and seizures when so authorized; confiscate contraband, weapons, etc., and deliver such to the Center Director for proper disposal.</li><li>Assist center staff and law enforcement officers in controlling disturbances; investigate and prepare reports on such; coordinate tort claims.</li><li>Ensure that proper student check-in and check-out procedures are followed.</li><li>Maintain incident reports, accident documentation, logs, and other records as prescribed by center, government and corporate guidelines.</li><li>Regularly inspect facilities; conduct preventive safety inspections of facilities to identify potential hazards; initiate corrective action.</li></ul>

Job Requirements:
Mandatory:<ul><li>Associate degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school in related field. Directly related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements.</li><li>Three years of related experience in law enforcement, security and/or safety; one of which should be in a supervisory capacity; or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li><li>Successfully pass any background check and/drug test required on the contract.</li><li>Ability to obtain & maintain valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record.</li></ul>Preferred:<ul><li>Experience in safety, security, law enforcement, emergency management, military, corrections, or related leadership roles.</li><li>Knowledge of OSHA standards, emergency response procedures, and risk management practices.</li><li>Strong leadership, communication, and investigative skills.</li><li>Experience managing teams in a 24/7 operational environment preferred.</li></ul>
