Fixins Soul Kitchen Detroit is seeking to hire a qualified expeditor. This position is paid hourly and tipped daily. The Fixins restaurant expeditor, often called an "expo," plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our restaurant. $17 - $20 an hour The key responsibilities and skills associated with this position include but are not limited to: • Order Management: Ensure the efficient flow of orders from waitstaff to the kitchen, prioritizing them as needed. • Final Preparation: Assist in the final preparation of dishes, ensuring they meet presentation and quality standards. • Accuracy Checks: Verify that dishes are accurate, properly plated, and at the correct temperature before they are served. • Communication: Act as a liaison between the kitchen and front-of-house staff, relaying essential information and special requests. • Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness and uphold sanitation standards in the kitchen and dining areas. • Communication: Must have strong ability to communicate effectively with both kitchen and waitstaff. • Organization: Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple orders and tasks simultaneously. • Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to ensure dishes meet quality standards. • Stamina: Physical stamina to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment. You will work in a fast-paced environment to get proper orders out faster and more efficiently. As food expeditor, you must have excellent communication skills and experience in a restaurant’s hectic setting. You must have enough stamina to be in constant motion and skills to coordinate and organize processes and people. The goal is to make service faster and better to help enhance our quality and reputation.
