<div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div> <div><div><strong>Commercial Roofing crew management experience and proficient with computers is required to be considered for this position. </strong><div><div> <div><div><div><div> <div><div>We are seeking a <strong>Commercial Roofing Superintendent</strong> to oversee the planning implementation and tracking of commercial roof project installation from beginning to end. Coordinating closely with all parties involved and frequent updates. <div><div> <div><div><div><div><strong>Nations Roof</strong>, one of the largest commercial roofing contractors in the US. Our projects range in scope from large-scale new construction to complete tear-offs, re-roofing and renovations of existing building exteriors, and on-going roof maintenance, inspection, and repairs of all major commercial roof systems<strong>.</strong><div><div><div> <div><div><div><p><strong>Job Summary</strong>:   The Superintendent, under the direct supervision of the Operations Manager (or other direct report listed above) is responsible for leading roofing foremen and/or sub-contractors to perform work safely and productively per specifications and to the standards of the company and customer. </p><p> </p><p><strong>Responsibilities and Functions: </strong>  </p><ul><li id="isPasted">To provide leadership to foremen—fostering safety, teamwork, and discipline—resulting in efficient and professional roof system installation.</li><li>To consistently provide high-quality service and results.</li><li>To represent the company in a professional manner in all dealings with customers, personnel, and the public.</li><li>To effectively manage all aspects of production to meet company and project goals.</li><li>Supervise foremen to lead safe and efficient roof system installations.</li><li>Oversee field staff and/or sub-contractor(s), assisting with crew leadership, as required.</li><li>Conduct or participate in safety audits and ensure subcontractor compliance with NR expectations.   This includes all safety requirements and weekly toolbox talks, inspection reports for equipment such as stair towers, forklifts, etc.</li><li>Resolve complaints and grievances; assist with discipline when necessary.</li><li>Ensure production and quality goals.  This includes being accountable for the performance and quality of work and maintaining records of your efforts to do so, including recording of such efforts by photographs and reporting tools such as a periodic probing plan and other tools which may be created to help maintain record and ensure proper oversight.</li><li>Maintain understanding of contract information for jobs.</li><li>Track labor hours and production against stated goals.  In some instances, this may require getting pictures which show a subcontractor is recording time properly.</li><li>Schedule materials, equipment, and deliveries, paying special attention to using inventoried materials.</li><li>Monitor material usage, minimize waste, anticipate shortages, and order materials as needed.</li><li>Coordinate, supervise and manage subcontractors.</li><li>Monitor quality of installations.  This will include destructive testing, such as cutting into hand welds, in order to make sure of proper installation techniques and results and to make sure that crew is adequately trained.  Identify personnel who may need more training and communicate this to the foreman as needed.   If necessary, outside resources can be brought in to provide additional training (mobile manufacturer training personnel).</li><li>Engage with customers to answer questions and provide explanations.</li><li>Schedule daily or weekly contact with customers to review progress.</li><li>Discuss any outstanding issues with customers and other parties.</li><li>Meet with customers to verify satisfaction with work and billing; deliver warranties.</li><li>Review plans and sites, delegate crews and do all pre-job planning including but not limited to creating site-specific safety plans and work plan efficiencies.</li><li>Ensure crews have information and instructions necessary to complete jobs.  If information is missing or lacking, notify Operations Manager and Senior Project Manager as soon as it is identified.</li><li>Submit reports and paperwork on time and otherwise coordinate communication between office and job sites.  This includes thorough, timely Daily Project Report’s and other reports needed by others for their responsibilities.  If providing daily reporting is not possible for some reason, notify Operations Manager in advance with explanation as to why it is not possible.</li><li>Investigate incidents, near misses, accidents, and thefts, and provide relevant documents, photos and assessments to the office.</li><li>Deliver all documentation to the office in a timely manner.  Reporting required daily should be done daily, and not accumulated and done every X days.  This includes not only job reports such as DPR’s but also includes expense reports and information needed by the Safety Manager or safety team.</li><li>Review final paperwork to ensure change orders are reflected and billed.</li><li>Participate in manufacturer final inspection.</li><li>Participate in regular review meetings with project managers.</li><li>Demonstrate commitment to professional development.</li><li>Demonstrate willingness to be a team player.</li><li>Offer assistance and expertise to others. </li><li>Assists Project Managers in the preparation, review and administration of contractual proposals, contracts and purchase orders relating to construction projects.</li><li>Works closely with the permit expeditors, project managers, design team and consultants to monitor and expedite the development process.</li><li>Maintains relationships between the organization and outside consultants, contractors, and suppliers.</li><li>Responsible for maintaining and updating the project management/development tracking tool, Salesforce and other business tools as needed.</li><li>Track and maintain Salesforce software for project information and updates in a timely manner.</li><li>Receives, organizes, and maintains all construction documents.</li><li>Perform site take-offs and communicate information to Estimating in a timely, clear and accurate manner.  When take-off information cannot be relayed to Estimating by the day following the site visit, communicate this via email to Estimating the day of the take-off along with why it is not possible.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li><li id="isPasted">Travel will be required 90% of the time.</li></ul><p><br/></p><p id="isPasted"><strong>Skills/Qualifications:</strong> </p><ul><li style="font-weight:bold">5 Five years' commercial roofing experience or an equivalent market, manufacturing or distribution experience servicing the commercial roofing marketplace.</li><li style="margin-left:0in"><strong>Bilingual in Spanish and English – Preferred (Written & Verbal)</strong></li><li style="font-weight:bold">Experience with roof installation of large retail facilities "Big Box".</li><li>Experience managing roofing crews and roofing subcontractors.</li><li>Experience of a wide range of commercial roofing systems and roofing manufacturers.</li><li>Experience with Microsoft Project, Bluebeam and/or construction project management experience, highly preferred. </li><li>Read and understand specifications and blueprints.</li><li>Basic computer skills - Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word, Outlook).</li><li>Willing to be trained and use company software.</li><li style="font-weight:bold">Must be able to travel frequently.</li><li style="font-weight:bold">Requires a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Premium Wages and Exceptional Benefit Package:</strong></p><ul><li>Full time, Salaried position</li><li>Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance</li><li>Life and AD&D Insurance</li><li>Disability Insurance</li><li>Company Vehicle and Phone (Company Use Only)</li><li>Paid Holiday and Paid Time Off (After 90 days)</li><li>401(K) retirement programs with employer contribution </li><li>Work year round</li></ul><p> </p><p><br/></p><p> <strong>If interested and have commercial roofing field management experience, please submit your resume online today!  </strong></p><p> </p><p>The preceding job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work to be performed.
