Under the general supervision of the AVP of HIM and Patient Identity, the Director provides leadership to hospital coding managers and staff, oversees coding vendor relationships, monitors key performance indicators, and collaborates with Revenue Cycle, Compliance, Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI), Information Technology, and clinical leadership to optimize coding accuracy and reimbursement. The Director of Hospital Coding Services is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational oversight, regulatory compliance, and performance management of the Health System's inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory surgery, emergency department, and ancillary hospital coding programs.
