<div><strong>Commercial Concrete Finisher<br/></strong><br/></div><div><strong>General Description:</strong><br/>Responsible for performing a variety of carpentry tasks associated with prepping, pouring, placing, and finishing of concrete. Tasks include erecting and setting forms for concrete structures, foundations, buildings, and site work per specifications and drawings. This may include concrete tilt-wall forms, symon forms and/or structural forms for columns, decks, elevator cores, parking garages and other cast-in-place concrete structures.</div><div><strong> </strong></div><div><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></div><ul><li>Ability to read and understand drawings and prints.</li><li>Build and/or assemble wood or metal forms for the construction of concrete floors, slabs, walls, columns, tilt-walls, elevated concrete slabs, elevator cores, stairways, etc.</li><li>Set and place forms to proper elevations and locations and may aid in installing reinforcing steel.</li><li>Set and erect forms using a wide variety of materials and forming systems, primarily symon forms.</li><li>Verify accuracy of structures using a plumb bob, carpenters level, laser and/or digital transit.</li><li>Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.</li><li>Communicate with Foreman, Riding Boss, or Project Manager regarding any problems arising, materials required, or any safety hazards identified.</li><li>Ensure equipment is all in safe working condition.</li><li>May help signal concrete deliverer to position truck to facilitate pouring.</li><li>Responsible for observing and complying with all safety policies and guidelines.</li><li>Assist with placement of concrete as needed.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.<br/><br/></li></ul><div><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></div><ul><li>Experience in construction or contracting industry.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.</li><li>Strong attention to detail.</li></ul>

<p>The Concrete Finisher position will begin in Topeka, KS, and require extended travel and work throughout the Midwest, e.g., Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, etc. 26.00 hour BOEPer Diem Benefits</p><p>Primary Function:
A Concrete Finisher is a person with the skill and experience necessary to perform a variety of construction activities relating to the layout, preparation, placement, and finishing of concrete. This position is expected to perform all aspects of concrete work with minimal direction from a crew foreman.</p><p>Typical Duties:
Work relating to the layout, site preparation, placement, and finishing of concrete on a variety of military, government, commercial type construction projects. While not inclusive, the following are some of the typical tasks expected of this position:</p><p>• Ground preparation and setting forms to required pitch and depth
• Cutting, bending, setting reinforcement
• Spread level and smooth concrete using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed, and float
• Mold expansion joints and edges using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge
• Cut out damaged areas, drill holes for reinforcing rods, and place rods to repair concrete using power saw and drill
• Chip, scrape, and grind high spots, ridges, and rough projections to finish concrete using pneumatic chisels, power grinders, or hand tools.</p><p>Work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold. Regularly lift and carry up to 75 lbs. Climb, stoop, bend, and squat as required for various duties.</p><p>Required Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen with a Negative result.
