About the role: The Safety Superintendent develops and implements Safety, Health, Security and Emergency Response systems for the Ashtabula Complex by analyzing trends/needs, advising, guiding and leading the line organization and developing plans for procedure implementation, training (including drills and skill development exercises), behavior awareness and corrective action for at-risk behavior and identifying and correcting physical hazards that will lead to improved safety performance. Extensive knowledge of safety compliance regulations (Federal, State and Local), industrial hygiene (qualitative and quantitative), case management, industrial medical practice (regular and emergency), hazardous materials evaluation/control, workers compensation, emergency response, ergonomics, process safety management and job/task analysis.
