Provides protection for the work activities of other parties engaged in work on the railroad right-of-way by performing safety briefings and issuing instructions to these parties coordinating this work with the Authority’s Train Operations Contractor, communicating by radio with train operators to authorize train movement through work area, observing railroad tracks for approaching trains, issuing audible warnings to workers concerning the approach of trains, directing the discontinuance of specific work practices until after train(s) have passed work location, observing work practices of the other parties, observing the workplace for unsafe conditions, and installing and removing temporary signs for the control of train movements. Knowledge of the time for completion and the cost of repair for track and right-of-way facilities, and the ability to make value judgments regarding economic repair and/or replacement of these facilities.
