No need to have previous real estate photography experience. Photographers are paid by the shoot. Typical pay range is $60 - $200 per shoot (depends on photography package ordered by client and can be higher than $200 at times) and each appointment typically takes an hour or less. Photographers may have as many as 4-5 appointments per day.
