Job Title: ICU Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Valid state nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA only), NIHSS Must-Have: - Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias - Multi-system organ failure - Post-cardiac surgery experience (not directly from the operating room) - IV insulin protocols - Chronic/acute renal failure - Accessing ports - Arterial line management - Blood product administration - Central line care/management - PICC line management - Starting IVs - Continuous IV sedation - Procedural sedation administration - Titrate cardiac drips - Titrate vasoactive drips - CVA/acute stroke management - External ventricular drains - Hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun - ICP monitoring - Post-neurosurgery management - Traumatic brain injury management - Assist with management of BiPAP and CPAP - Assist with chest tube insertion/removal - Care of ventilated patients - High flow nasal cannula management - Interpretation of arterial blood gases - Suctioning (ETT, NT) - Infection prevention - Isolation precautions and use of PPE - Phlebotomy - Wound care management Description: The role requires an ICU nurse for a community hospital setting.
