We are seeking a candidate to supervise drivers at one of our locations.   The Operations Supervisor provides direction at a single location, leading staff to ensure customer requirements are achieved while meeting our Penske goals and objectives.   Position Summary:   Provide operational leadership to individual contributors and hourly workforce to ensure the execution of daily tasks and activities including driver deliveries, loading/unloading of trailers, and customer service operations in a manner consistent with company services and cost objectives. Supervises most processes directly including people, systems, customer needs, equipment, etc. workforce and equipment scheduling. Responsible for performance management of direct reports. making corrective action and disciplinary decisions up to written warning level. Involved in the hiring process and customer meetings as necessary. In this role, Operations Supervisors will be bonus eligible based on their performance and location performance. To learn more visit https://penske.jobs/benefits/   Major Responsibilities:   People   <ul><li> </li><li>Establish and sustain that all supervisors and associates are trained and competent and understand how their work relates to the customers' business objectives</li><li>   </li><li>Establish and sustain that performance standards are communicated that are specific and measurable</li><li>   </li><li>Interview hourly associates and provide recommendations for hire</li><li>   </li><li>Monitor attendance, productivity, and other performance standards and provide coaching and counseling to associates</li><li>   </li><li>Motivate and engage associates by focusing on team accomplishments and recognition</li><li>   </li></ul>   Operations   <ul><li> </li><li>Supervise logistics operations including customer service, freight loading and unloading, dispatch and proper documentation and procedure control</li><li>   </li><li>Conduct team meetings</li><li>   </li><li>Evaluate and recommend changes in preferred work methods to increase productivity of dispatch operations. Assist in new associate training</li><li>   </li><li>Provide relief coverage for operational duties when associates utilize time-off or are absent from the shift</li><li>   </li><li>Have a thorough working knowledge of the site's operating systems in order to ensure operational compliance and correct exception resolution</li><li>   </li><li>Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion</li><li>   </li></ul>   Finance   <ul><li> </li><li>Ensure compliance with financial policies & procedures such as tracking MPG, returns, damages, etc.</li><li>   </li><li>Understand the relationship between decision-making and profitability</li><li>   </li><li>Closely manage associates' working hours and activities to minimize overtime and to meet or exceed productivity targets</li><li>   </li></ul>   Safety   <ul><li> </li><li>Ensure day-to-day management and associate activities are aligned with the location safety strategy</li><li>   </li><li>Provide associates with communication, training, feedback, and direction to ensure safe performance</li><li>   </li><li>Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies and company policies and procedures</li><li>   </li><li>Conduct safety observations</li><li>   </li></ul>   Growth / Customer Experience   <ul><li> </li><li>Understand the location-specific customer goals & objectives and work to meet and exceed these expectations daily</li><li>   </li><li>Ensure the customer knows that we are committed to helping them meet their objectives</li><li>   </li><li>Determine areas that could benefit from Continuous Improvement efforts</li><li>   </li></ul>   Fleet/Assets   <ul><li> </li><li>Properly plan work assignments to ensure effective use of fleet equipment</li><li>   </li><li>Work with hourly associates to ensure they understand safe and efficient operation of equipment</li><li>   </li><li>Work with vendors to ensure equipment is maintained</li><li>   </li><li>Work with Penske Truck Leasing to ensure schedule of preventative maintenance is complete</li><li>   </li><li>Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor</li><li>   </li></ul>   Job Qualifications:   <ul><li> </li><li>Demonstrated leadership qualities with strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to connect, build rapport and maintain solid relationships with associates, Company leadership, internal and external customers. ¬</li><li>   </li><li>Must have ability to work efficiently and independently with strong time management and organizational skills</li><li>   </li><li>Strong written/oral communication skills and the ability to actively listen are required</li><li>   </li><li>Ability to manage through a problem, think critically, and make decisions independently</li><li>   </li><li>Ability to drive process improvement and lead change</li><li>   </li><li>Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required</li><li>   </li><li>Must demonstrate ownership & responsibility to run the operation with a sense of urgency</li><li>   </li><li>High School Diploma or equivalent required</li><li>   </li><li>Bachelor’s Degree preferred</li><li>   </li><li>Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job</li><li>   </li><li>Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.</li><li>   </li></ul>   Physical Requirements:   <ul><li> </li><li>The physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This role will focus on roadway, highway, corridor, and multimodal transportation projects while supporting project execution, technical leadership, and client coordination. The ideal candidate will bring strong transportation engineering experience, roadway design expertise, and the ability to independently manage technical assignments while mentoring junior staff and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities Transportation Engineering & Design Support roadway, highway, corridor, bridge, multimodal, and transportation infrastructure projects Prepare engineering plans, reports, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, and technical documentation Lead technical transportation engineering assignments throughout multiple project phases Conduct field reviews, site observations, and engineering data collection Perform roadway and transportation analysis and develop engineering recommendations Prepare exhibits, graphics, and presentation materials for public and client meetings Participate in construction-related assignments and project coordination efforts Technical Leadership & Project Coordination Lead technical tasks while coordinating schedules, budgets, and deliverables Perform QA/QC reviews for transportation engineering documents and project work Coordinate with internal multidisciplinary teams, agencies, and external stakeholders Support proposal preparation, grant applications, and project presentations Develop and improve engineering procedures, workflows, and technical tools Mentor and assist junior engineering staff Client & Stakeholder Interaction Participate in client meetings, public engagement activities, and agency coordination Support ongoing client relationships and business development initiatives Present technical findings and project recommendations to internal and external stakeholders Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field required Coursework or concentration in Transportation Engineering and/or Highway Design preferred 5+ years of transportation engineering experience required EIT certification required OR equivalent transportation engineering experience PE license preferred or ability to obtain within six months Experience preparing roadway or traffic engineering plans/studies required Experience performing QA/QC reviews and directing technical tasks required Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or related engineering design software Experience with AutoTurn and GuideSIGN preferred Familiarity with DOT standards, roadway design criteria, permitting processes, and construction standards Knowledge of ADA standards and construction practices preferred Valid driver’s license preferred Preferred Skill Sets Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent communication and technical writing skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously Experience leading technical transportation design assignments Strong collaboration and mentoring capabilities Interest in professional growth and long-term career advancement Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $90,000 – $120,000 depending on experience Comprehensive benefits package offered, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, professional development support, and performance-based incentives Additional Information Primarily office-based environment with occasional field/site visits Some local and overnight travel may be required Exposure to active transportation and construction project environments as needed
