The highest quality and execution should be focused on design maintenance and development and installation of these various areas providing the visitor with impactful moments at Powell Gardens. Assisting with seasonal festival shifts, installation and support of the Garden is an additional responsibility.  <br/><br/></div><div><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></div><ul><li>Seasonal garden installation on schedule.</li><li>Impactful garden display including produced plants, designed gardens, container gardens, and updated plant tags.</li><li>Responsible for weeding, mulching, watering, planting and general maintenance. We strive for excellence, emphasizing the quality of collections, materials, function, and design. By maintaining exemplary standards of horticultural care, we reflect this commitment to excellence, ensure the optimal health of our living collections, and create a landscape of enduring beauty.</li><li>Design and implementation of creative displays in the assigned beds of the Core Gardens with a focus on collections.</li><li>Interacting and interpreting different elements of our displays through talks and chalkboard signs.</li><li>Quickly change out plants as needed so no dead or declining plants are on display.</li><li>Assist with accurate documentation of the area’s plant records and requests for new and updated plant tags.</li><li>Assist with snow and ice removal on sidewalks.</li><li>Timely plant maintenance, pest and disease control, record keeping; may include collection houses and/or production.</li><li>Identify and control any threating plant pests and diseases as required.</li><li>Support garden activation in collaboration with education department, private events, development team, festivals, exhibits.</li><li>The horticulture team is an integral part of planning, designing, installing, and tearing down seasonal festivals and annual exhibitions. Maintenance personnel are responsible for leading volunteer teams to help achieve a team spirit at PVBC that results in an effective maintenance team that cares for the facilities, grounds, and equipment with excellence as the standard.<br/>  <br/><strong>Job Responsibilities</strong><br/>1.  Responsible for performing preventive maintenance on all building and grounds equipment (HVAC, Tractors, Custodial Equipment, etc.).<br/><br/>2.  Responsible for performing all activities related to electrical, plumbing, painting, and carpentry repairs to the facility as needed.   Grounds maintenance including landscaping.  <br/><br/>3.  Capable of responding to any emergency or safety concerns pertaining to the facility and or grounds (Fire, Electrical, Sprinklers, Alarm & Camera Systems, Locking System, Severe Weather, etc.).<br/><br/>4.  Responsible for cultivating and implementing a team spirit not only with other staff members but with all vendors, volunteers and key leaders.<br/><br/>5.  Responsible for responding to all work orders in a timely manner and to ensure work is done with excellence and in a cost-effective manner.<br/><br/>6.  Assist Facilities & Grounds Operations Director to ensure all contract labor and vendor contracts are fully met. This would include areas such as Alarm Systems, HVAC, Elevator Services, Pest Control, and any short-term related contractor services.<br/><br/>7.      Develop a day-to-day culture with staff and volunteers that will allow/exhibit a vibrant relationship with Christ.<br/> <br/><strong> Qualifications / Job Skills</strong><br/>     General knowledge of HVAC systems<br/>     Cultivate an Ephesians 4 culture that results in leading teams and developing volunteers<br/>     Knowledge in all phases of building repair and maintenance<br/>     Exceptional people skills<br/>     General working knowledge of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and mechanical repairs<br/>     General knowledge of grounds keeping.
