Location: On-site at a partner school (varies by assignment; indoor and/or outdoor space) Schedule: 1–4 hours per week, after school Program Length: ~10 weeks Start Date: Rolling openings based on school schedules Compensation: $50+ per instructional hour (flexible based on experience, program, and commute)About the RoleConcorde Education is seeking a Gardening Instructor to lead engaging after-school programs for students (grade band varies by assignment). This role introduces learners to foundational gardening concepts through hands-on, age-appropriate activities.Instructors will guide students in understanding how plants grow, what they need to thrive, and how gardening connects to environmental awareness, nutrition, and community. Programs are interactive and adapted to the site’s space, season, and student level.What You’ll TeachStudents will learn the basics of gardening through active participation and real-world application. Topics may include:<ul><li>Plant needs and life cycles (sunlight, water, nutrients, growth stages)</li><li>Soil basics (composition, drainage, composting concepts)</li><li>Seeds and germination (planting, transplanting, care)</li><li>Plant identification and basic botany (roots, stems, leaves, flowers)</li><li>Watering practices and conservation</li><li>Seasonal gardening and local climate awareness</li><li>Pollinators and ecosystems (bees, butterflies, biodiversity)</li><li>Garden design basics (spacing, container gardening, simple layouts)</li><li>Food systems connections (herbs, vegetables, where food comes from)</li><li>Observation and reflection (garden journaling, tracking growth) Responsibilities</li><li>Lead structured, hands-on gardening sessions aligned to program goals</li><li>Plan safe activities based on site space, season, and available materials</li><li>Maintain consistent routines for tool use, cleanup, and safety</li><li>Create a positive, inclusive environment that encourages participation</li><li>Support student responsibility for plant care (as applicable)</li><li>Communicate with program staff regarding attendance and session updates</li><li>Adapt instruction to different skill levels while maintaining outcomes Qualifications</li><li>Minimum of 60 college credits (completed or in progress)</li><li>Experience with gardening or plant-based activities</li><li>Experience working with students (schools, camps, tutoring, or youth programs)</li><li>Strong communication and classroom management skills</li><li>Comfortable managing hands-on activities and materials safely</li><li>Reliable, punctual, and professional Who This Role Is Great For</li><li>Garden educators, horticulture students, or environmental educators</li><li>Teachers or paraprofessionals interested in outdoor learning</li><li>College students studying environmental science, biology, or related fields</li><li>Hobby gardeners who enjoy working with youth  </li><li>About Concorde Education</li></ul>Concorde Education partners with schools nationwide to provide engaging after-school programs in STEM, arts, and enrichment topics. If you enjoy making a direct impact on project efficiency, cost control, and successful project delivery, this opportunity may be the right fit for you.As a Landscape Project Engineer, you will support Project Management and Operations by working directly with tasks relating to specific landscape construction projects; maintain accurate projects records and act as an intermediary between landscape field operations, company management, and contractors.Highlights of what our Project Engineer will do:<ul><li>Assist in making sure all pre-construction preparations are completed prior to mobilizing on a new project.</li><li>Assist in preparation of submittal packages by verifying accuracy to the contract, prior to submitting to owner.</li><li>Preparation of RFI’s (as needed) for submission to owner/developer, or General Contractor.</li></ul><ul><li>Able to produce change orders/and budgets for revised plans from contract sets of plans.</li></ul><ul><li>Able to read and interpret plans, material lists, and specifications as they pertain to projects.</li></ul><ul><li>Ensure that as-built drawings are complete and accurate. Create controller charts from “as built” drawings.</li></ul><ul><li>Assist post install maintenance with managing and tracking contract closeout documents, such as warranties, certifications, maintenance letters, etc.</li></ul><ul><li>Assist Project Manager with creating the job cost breakdown of a project and tracking labor and equipment on projects.</li></ul><ul><li>Assist Project Manager with maintaining the project life cycle log daily.</li></ul>Minimum Skills & Qualifications:<ul></ul><ul><li>3-5 years Landscape Construction experience or 1 -2 years of Project Engineer experience.</li></ul><ul><li>Proficient with On-screen takeoff, excel, Microsoft office-word, outlook, sage or precision.</li></ul><ul><li>Good communication skills (oral and written)</li></ul><ul><li>Must be detailed-oriented and highly organized.</li></ul><ul><li>Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; and maintains confidentiality.</li></ul><ul><li>Prioritize and plan work activities; and uses time efficiently.</li></ul><ul><li>Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; and monitors own work to ensure quality.</li></ul><ul><li>Adapts to changes in the work environment; manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events in a very fast-paced environment.</li></ul><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree is a plus.</li></ul>What We Offer:<ul><li>Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA</li><li>Schedule: 5am - 1:30pm</li><li>Healthcare benefit program, 401(k) and Roth IRA options</li><li>9 paid holidays per year with paid vacation & sick leave</li><li>Salary: $55,000 - $60,000 depending on experience.</li></ul>At Gothic Landscape, you’ll join a collaborative, people-first culture where your expertise will help keep our teams paid accurately and on time—and where your ideas for improving processes will be valued and supported.We are an equal opportunity employer.
