Grow with us, H2O+U.Your OpportunityThe Geologist/Geological Engineer will perform tasks and project management assignments associated with subsurface explorations, geo-structural studies, pre-grouting assessment, remediation, and design and construction projects; sampling of bedrock, soil, sediment, surface water, and groundwater; preparing geotechnical/geologic exhibits; data interpretation/evaluation and deliverable/report preparation.Your Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Performing outdoor, all-season, on-site geotechnical and geological investigations as well as geotechnical related construction monitoring field tasks such as construction progress, condition verification, and instrumentation monitoring</li><li>Conducting subsurface geotechnical and geologic investigations in connection with dams, tunnels, mining, building, infrastructure, and other development projects</li><li>Performing field geologic explorations including soil and bedrock mapping</li><li>Performing Quality Control (QC) on field borehole logs completed by co-workers (including the Q system and the RMR system, as requested) for collected soil and rock core samples</li><li>Performing field hydraulic conductivity and infiltration testing and evaluations</li><li>Preparing detailed field reports and geotechnical and geologic reports</li><li>Providing geotechnical monitoring and using instrumentation to record vibrations, settlements, slope movements, water levels, and other critical geotechnical engineering data.</li><li>Reducing and summarizing geohydrologic and geotechnical data and preparing plans for inclusion in interpretive reports for clients</li><li>Performing geotechnical computer modeling of slope stability, groundwater dewatering predictions, groundwater flow</li><li>Complete applicable company and client required health & safety training (including OSHA and MSHA required training) and follow health & safety policies and procedures.</li><li>Documenting and preparing internal reports on the geotechnical and geologic aspects of construction projects.</li><li>A willingness to travel is required.</li></ul>Your Capabilities and Credentials<ul><li>P.G. or P.E Registration is required, PG preferred</li><li>Good driving record and valid driver's license required.</li><li>Working understanding of policies and procedures for HSSE, including client-specific training (as required), and demonstrates use and understanding of these policies and procedures as appropriate to their work. Position Overview:
The Engineering Intern will work under the supervision of experienced engineers and technical staff to support project execution across multiple engineering disciplines, including geotechnical, environmental, construction materials testing, and structural engineering. This role provides hands-on experience in field investigations, laboratory testing, data analysis, and technical reporting. The intern will gain exposure to engineering best practices while contributing to high-quality solutions for UES clients.

Responsibilities:
 <ul><li>Assist engineers with field inspections, site assessments, and data collection.</li><li>Perform laboratory testing and assist in preparing samples for analysis.</li><li>Support in drafting technical reports, calculations, and documentation.</li><li>Participate in construction materials testing, including soils, concrete, asphalt, and steel, under supervision.</li><li>Assist with geotechnical investigations, including logging of soil borings and monitoring well installations.</li><li>Conduct research and gather background information for project design and analysis.</li><li>Maintain accurate project records, logs, and documentation.</li><li>Comply with all UES safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.</li><li>Provide general support to project teams as needed</li></ul>
