SUMMARY:The Deputy Superintendent provides leadership to the instructional functions of the school system. This includes the planning, coordination, and supervision of instruction, curriculum, assessment, professional development, and compliance with state and federal programs. This position supports the implementation of the Maryland Blueprint for Schools and works closely with the Superintendent and other district leaders to advance student achievement and operational excellence.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>Direct and evaluate instructional staff, programs, and curriculum development.</li><li>Support the implementation of the Maryland Blueprint for Schools.</li><li>Collaborate with the Superintendent to:</li><li>Plan and coordinate school improvement efforts at both state and local levels.</li><li>Supervise school improvement initiatives in all schools.</li><li>Implement professional learning aligned to Maryland's assessment programs (MCAP).</li><li>Oversee MSDE and Federal grant programs, including Title grants.</li><li>Develop and monitor goals, plans, and evaluation procedures for schools and instructional programs.</li><li>Supervise the development and revision of curriculum specifications and instructional programs.</li><li>Partner with the Chief Operations Officer to develop educational specifications for new school facilities and renovations.</li><li>Plan and lead staff development for all instructional personnel.</li><li>Supervise nurses and K-12 art programming.</li><li>Evaluate and supervise supervisors of instruction and Chief Academic Officers.</li><li>Lead research and evaluation studies related to curriculum and instruction.</li><li>Recommend, interpret, and enforce Board policies related to instruction.</li><li>Recommend personnel actions for instructional supervisors and other direct reports.</li><li>Assist in budget development and monitor departmental fiscal responsibility.</li><li>Approve instructional purchase orders in accordance with COMAR and financial regulations.</li><li>Support the Director of Student Services in improving discipline processes and compliance with policies and COMAR.</li><li>Coordinate and facilitate instructional leadership meetings.</li><li>Attend MSDE and Eastern Shore Assistant Superintendent meetings; disseminate key information.</li><li>Collaborate with higher education institutions to support Grow Your Own initiatives.</li><li>Complete reports and assist in policy development related to instruction.</li><li>Coordinate major district events, including Staff Recognition Night and high school graduations.</li><li>Lead the development of the annual school calendar.</li><li>Maintain visibility in schools and throughout the district.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.</li></ul>QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. BB&E team members provide Environmental Consulting, Facilities Engineering and Program/Project Management Services to Federal and private sectors. <h3>Position Summary</h3>BB&E is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Environmental Program Manager for an on-site position to fulfill all requirements of the Performance Work Statement (PWS) for our NASA Environmental Support Services (NESS) contract located in Greenbelt, MD and Wallops Island, VA. The on-site Environmental Program Manager will provide the planning, coordination, technical direction, and surveillance of the program team and activities necessary to ensure disciplined performance of work and timely application of resources for the accomplishment of the Performance Work Statement (PWS).<h3>Job Duties & Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Ensure environmental technical expertise and support services are obtained, directed, and managed successfully to complete the PWS and prepare all deliverables and Contract Data List Requirements (CDRLs) for the Environmental Compliance program at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and Wallops Flight Facility. The on-site program manager must have at least 3 years’ Environmental Program Management Experience, including indirect services procurement (i.e. management of subcontracts); be a subject matter expert in at least one compliance media (e.g. water, air, tanks, waste); and have multi-media environmental experience with federal and state regulatory compliance and in risk assessments.</li><li>Manage all project elements including NESS staff, internal project teams, multiple subcontractors, vendors, and relationships with NASA and regulatory personnel in accordance with PWS requirements and BB&E standard operating procedures.</li><li>Organize and execute project work including the appropriate delegation.</li><li>Lead project teams in a focused collaborative effort through successful execution of project requirements. Demonstrate subject matter expert skill sets to support private and government sectors.</li><li>Lead, mentor, and train junior staff, provide direction, vision, and strategy for the company and the project.</li><li>Provide overall management and administrative functions to ensure that the team are available, and resources allocated and that the PWS tasks and deliverables meet performance requirements. The Team Lead shall ensure that all labor, services, and materials necessary for program management, business management and associated services to meet the PWS are successfully delivered.</li><li>Process the payments of Permits/Fees related to the work on this contract.</li><li>Utilize NASA furnished databases or other NASA-authorized software. </li><li>Notify, document, and obtain concurrence of the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) and approval of the Contracting Officer (CO) for all deviations, waivers and non-compliance to the requirements specified in this PWS.</li><li>Maintain a comprehensive Safety and Health Plan. </li><li>Complete and deliver a monthly technical report covering all CLINs on the contract no later than five business days after the end of the month. </li><li>Track and report all workplace-related injuries, property damage, and near misses. Monitors and holds pharmacy technicians accountable for timely training completion. Follows established policies and procedures set by the company for scheduling and training.</li><li>Accountable for identifying gaps in pharmacy operations knowledge among team members and supporting those team members in their training, either through hands-on training or assignment of learning modules.</li><li>Assists Pharmacy Manager in monitoring that all pharmacy and team member licensures, registrations and certifications are active and in good standing/ compliant with all regulatory and legal requirements. Leverages Walgreens resources such as Walgreens Online Verification System to assist in documenting licensure status.</li><li>Ensures proper procedures are followed for selection, recruitment, record retention, and training as required by Company policy and local, state and federal laws.</li></ul>Training & Personal Development<ul><li>Maintains PTCB certification through the designated PTCB training program and/or state required certification/registration.</li><li>Maintains and enhances current knowledge and skills related to pharmacy and healthcare.</li><li>Obtains necessary certifications, education credits and training such as LTMP e-modules as required by the Company. Follows performance improvement plans offered by Pharmacy Manager.</li><li>Seeks professional development by monitoring one's own performance, solicits for constructive feedback, and leverages Healthcare Supervisor as mentor and coach.</li></ul>Communication<ul><li>Communicates with pharmacy team, relaying messages from the support center or other key emails as required.</li><li>Participates in key store/pharmacy meetings, including 5-minute meetings and weekly check-ins with the Store Manager</li></ul>Basic Qualifications<ul><li>High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.</li><li>PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).</li><li>Has one year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.</li><li>Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).</li><li>Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.</li><li>Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in Community Specialty Pharmacy and Health System Pharmacy locations)</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Previous people management/ leadership experience.</li><li>Previous work experience with Walgreens with an Exceeding Expectation on last performance evaluation.</li></ul>We will consider employment of qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.This information is being provided to promote pay transparency and equal employment opportunities at Walgreens.
