Receptionist Position Snapshot: Execute queue-based operational work with high accuracy, strong documentation discipline, and timely completion. Works within defined team standards and escalates exceptions appropriately. Reports To: Operations Lead/Supervisor (team-specific) Core Responsibilities Applies to all role(s) in this category<ul><li>Complete assigned queue work accurately and timely; maintain clean system documentation and artifacts.
	</li><li>Follow documented procedures, templates, and standards; flag exceptions early.
	</li><li>Communicate clearly with internal teams and (where applicable) clients/vendors through approved channels.

JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Rural Health Clinic Supervisor and/or Director the clinic receptionist is responsible for providing professional customer service, obtaining and verifying patient demographics and insurance information, and scheduling patient appointments in an efficient manner, in accordance with established policies and procedures. JOB RELATIONSHIPS: Responsible to: Rural Health Clinic Supervisor and/or Director             Positions Directly Supervised: None             Regular Contact with: All Rural Health personnel, Physicians, and the public. Provides basic and accurate information in-person and/or electronically (e.g. phone, email, etc.)</li><li style="margin-left:56px">Schedules, coordinates, and reschedules patient appointments, as needed, including return/follow-up visits, consultations, and referrals</li><li style="margin-left:56px">Maintains and updates scheduling information on provider schedules to ensure that patients are scheduled accurately</li><li style="margin-left:56px">Works in conjunction with nurses and providers to accommodate scheduling requests</li><li style="margin-left:56px">Compiles, processes, and maintains medical records of all clinic patients in a manner consistent with medical, administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements </li><li style="margin-left:56px">Reviews all patient forms for accuracy and completion according to office policies </li><li style="margin-left:56px">Scans patient results, forms, information, etc. into the electronic system accurately in accordance with established clinic procedures </li><li style="margin-left:56px">Accurately obtain and verify patient health insurance information and ensure eligibility and proper billing</li><li style="margin-left:56px">Collects and process patient copays and deductibles accurately at the time of service in accordance with clinic policies</li><li style="margin-left:56px">Follows opening and closing procedures according to clinic guidelines </li><li style="margin-left:56px">Maintains a clean, organized, and sanitary front desk and waiting area to ensure a safe, professional, and welcoming environment for patients and staff </li><li style="margin-left:56px">Monitor and maintain front office equipment to ensure proper functionality and promptly report or resolve any issues</li><li style="margin-left:56px">Floats to other Rural Health Clinics as needed </li><li style="margin-left:56px">Performs other duties as assigned.</li></ol> QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Work Experience: Desired, but not required. One year of experience in a medical office setting, medical insurance verification, and/or electronic medical records is preferred.
