6 South specializes in patients with advanced heart failure, pre or post heart or lung transplant, Left Ventricular Assist devices, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps, and respiratory failure necessitating Bipap, or Hi-Flo Nasal Cannula. Specifically, the nurses are trained to manage continuous vasoactive infusions, pulmonary artery catheters, radial arterial lines, central venous catheters, peritoneal dialysis and utilization of Endotool for continuous Insulin drip therapy.
