Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers and rakes. Ability to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time.

SUMMARYThe primary function of this position is to assist in the construction and installation of a utility grade solar project throughout all phases of construction. WORK REQUIREMENTSYou will report to a management approved supervisor which may be reassigned as workload changes.Basic general labor duties preparing work area for installation of various equipment Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazardsControl traffic passing near, in, and around work zonesSignal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment and materialsDig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers and rakesAbility to thoroughly keep equipment, vehicles, materials, tools, and all company property clean and neat. Assist with pulling wire through trenchesMinor hand tool work bolting and unbolting of PV solar racks using manual or power toolsJob requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain, mud, etc.Ability to fill in and assist any aspect of building a PV solar system, i.e. electrical, mechanical, security, equipment, vehicle, etc. Ability to work well with others and understand and take direction from all levels of upper managementQUALIFICATIONS A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not always requiredMust be at least 18 years of ageAbility to work in extreme outdoor environments (example: hot sun, cold, wet weather, mud, etc.)Have full range of mobility in upper and lower bodyAbility to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of timeBe able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasksBe able to lift 50 pounds of weight safely without assistance throughout assigned workdayAble to work 8 -12 hours per day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required including occasional night shiftsPhysical work is a primary part (more than 80%) of the jobRepetitive use of arms, hands and fingers RESPONSIBILITIES:Regular, reliable and predictable attendance requiredAbility to work well with others in a collaborative team environmentMust display a positive attitude dedicated towards achieving results for the company as well as providing quality service and accuracyMust be a team player and able to work between multiple departments to reach a common goalMust maintain a clean and professional appearance and attitude at ALL times while at work, while representing or traveling for the companyResponsible for daily upkeep of your work areaMust be flexible with work hours and be able to work overtime as needed Must wear required personal protective equipment at all times (hard hat, safety glasses, etc)Advise immediate supervisor of any safety or job related problemsMust comply with all OHSA safety requirements and regulationsOther Duties Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required
