The RN manages psychiatric crisis, carries out written orders from the prescriber, manages patient medication needs including but not limited to pharmacy orders, prior authorizations, assisting with management of medication side effects under prescriber orders, maintaining medication administration records, medication storage areas, providing ordered injections, working collaboratively with Crisis Services, Emergency Rooms, with Community Providers, and providing patient medication and health education. Performs client care optimizing client safety and risk reduction to include but not limited to reduction in health care errors, safety planning, following safety check protocols as ordered, seeking team collaboration or supervisor input for potentially risk situations, and continuously observing client behaviors, mental status, and activities.
