The CCRT RN does not have a physical home unit, but instead, functions out of a home department and readily accepts patient care assignments throughout the organization as needed to support patient care needs including, but not limited to, transporting critical and/or cardiac monitored patients, assisting nurses with patient lifts, placing difficult intravenous therapy catheters, performing procedural conscious sedation support and serving as a consult to other bedside nurses with complex patients and expediting admissions, transfers and discharges.
