This job works under the supervision of the Medical Director or approved staff physician and in association with the PCCs, staff nurses, and discharge coordinator in the planning, implementation and evaluation of medical and nursing care; and assumes responsibility for primary and urgent medical management, emergency stabilization of all critically ill patients, teaching of residents and medical students, staff development and education, patient education and discharge planning. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible. The employed Healthcare Provider by the Hospital is expected to provide high quality inpatient services to our patient population. li>Under the direction of the Attending Physician, conducts minor procedures as needed including insertion and removal of central venous catheters, chest tubes, indwelling venous and arterial catheters, venous punctures, arterial punctures, nasogastric tubes, bladder catheters, lumbar punctures, endotracheal intubations, PIC lines, and bedside ultrasonography. p>Provides direct patient care in both outpatient and inpatient settings as directed by contract, develops treatment plans, and assesses patients response to treatment while ensuring that all health care services provided are of the highest quality. Ensures the appropriate application of the hospitals mission and philosophy and departmental and hospital policies and procedures in a manner that promotes the provision of high quality health care services and departmental effectiveness. Participates in continuous quality improvement programs in order to foster the provision of quality health care services by the department and hospital and ensures that all services are provided with compassion, understanding, and respect for others. Utilizes all equipment, supplies, facilities, and resources in a prudent and efficient manner in order to ensure efficient departmental operations and the provision of high quality health care services. li> Participates in the medical care of patients seen in the office, assessing and developing a comprehensive health data base (including the elicitation of a comprehensive health history and performance of physical assessment, using skills of observation, inspection, palpation, percussion and auscultation, as well as basic instruments and indicated screening procedures).
