SCOPE OF WORKUnder general supervision, the Area Sales Manager position is in charge of sales strategies in all market segments with a focus on maximizing the total hotel room & banquet revenue. RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>Accountable for meeting hotel sales targets set by Corporate.</li><li>Make personal sales calls.</li><li>Implement approved sales plan and action steps as directed.</li><li>Develop and search for potential markets for hotels.</li><li>Develop, create, and implement innovative Sales and Marketing techniques.</li><li>Execute and distribute all in-house advertising and promotional campaigns.</li><li>Maintain competitive analysis statistical information.</li><li>Maintain current filing system on company accounts and prepare required reports.</li><li>Contact current meeting planners to promote goodwill and foster additional and repeat business.</li><li>Maintain good rapport with local civic groups and associations.</li><li>Prepare reports as requested: Sales Call Reports, Internal Sales Report.</li><li>Attend and lead Sales meetings with the team.</li><li>Attend weekly staff meetings and sales meetings.</li><li>Complete projects as determined by the Regional Director & General Manager.</li><li>Take responsibility for the implementation of sales plans. Monitor plans’ effectiveness and introduce changes in response to the marketplace, including setting targets, planning, and scheduling work and performance indicators that are typically productivity and efficiency measures.</li><li>Work in conjunction with accounting to maintain and minimize levels of account receivables.</li><li>Coordinate activities with other hotel departments in order to facilitate increased levels of communication and guest satisfaction.</li><li>Coordinate efforts with Rooms Division in the weekly maintenance of room inventory status to achieve optimal levels of revenues while maintaining high levels of guest expectations.</li><li>Develop promotional programs, point of sales materials, sales blitzes, etc.</li><li>Report on a regular basis to the DOS/Revenue on actual room numbers against budget and profit projections.
