Patient types include small bowel obstructions, general surgeries (e.g., colectomy, colon/small bowel resections, nephrectomy, hysterectomy, mastectomy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repairs, splenectomy, thyroidectomy), kidney stones, pneumothorax, bariatric surgery, rib fractures, hip fractures, joint replacements, cellulitis. Duties include wound care, chest tube management, PIV starts, NG tubes, ostomy care, drains, continuous bladder irrigation, tube feeds, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and support with Peripheral Blood Draws and IV therapy.
