Training Schedule: Your first week with Farmers will be fully remote, Tuesday-Friday 9:30am-6:00pm CST. During this time you will work with our training team to ensure all log ins are up and running, systems are active, you will enroll in benefits, etc. All the "getting ready for the job" stuff. <ul><li> Network Engineer II will lead and collaborate across brands, both nationally and globally, to achieve a secure and robust environment that meets local and global business and regulatory needs</li><li> Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for infrastructure administration</li><li> Research and recommend products, services, protocols, and standards to support all network infrastructure procurement and development efforts</li><li> Monitor network performance and provide statistics and reports; Develop strategies for maintaining network infrastructure</li><li> Keep in touch with the organization's stakeholders, department heads, and end users through regular written and face-to-face interactions about relevant infrastructure activities</li><li> Assume Incident Management responsibility during severity one network events</li><li> Build strong partnerships with local vendors that provide essential infrastructure</li><li> Collaborate with global IT and globally defined infrastructure vendors for ongoing operations of globally provided infrastructure products & services</li><li> As a Network Engineer II, you will determine the scope, objectives, and outcomes of infrastructure projects and initiatives</li><li> Lead the Infrastructure project management process and work with team members and stakeholders to achieve expected deliverables</li><li> Conduct project post-mortems and create recommendation reports to identify success and opportunities</li><li> Write RFPs, bids, contracts, work reports, and other documents for infrastructure projects and related work</li><li> Assist with the planning and deployment of IT security measures for infrastructure systems</li></ul> Requirements:<ul><li> Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field and/or a combination of related work experience</li><li> 10+ years of work experience in a multi-site, multi-organization configuration in the capacity of a senior or lead network engineer</li><li> Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices</li><li> Hands-on experience designing and managing high-availability configurations, including load balancers and fault-tolerant systems supporting mission-critical infrastructure</li><li> Experience with telephony systems, and diagnostic tools for voice and data circuits, with a track record of resolving complex issues and improving service reliability</li><li> Strong understanding of global data privacy regulations and practices, with experience embedding compliance into infrastructure design and operational workflows</li><li> Knowledge of current IT network Infrastructure protocols and standards, including OSI, and ITIL</li><li> Excellent knowledge of telephony systems</li><li> Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws</li><li> Competence with testing tools and procedures for voice and data circuits</li></ul>
Knowledge of and experience with:
<ul><li> LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN design and implementation</li><li> Network segmentation using VLANs, ACLs, and other technologies</li><li> Firewall management, including management of rules, & VPN tunnels</li><li> Provisioning, managing, and supporting network aspects of Hybrid Cloud environments</li><li> Cybersecurity awareness, security response, and routine network patching processes</li><li> Application & Server network support experience with Microsoft technologies</li></ul>
Experience and success with:
<ul><li> Bandwidth shaping, policing, and prioritization using tagged traffic</li><li> Load Balancers and high availability configurations</li><li> Extensive knowledge of various LAN and WAN routing protocols</li></ul> <div>
 The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
 
 We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
