The Senior Lead IT Engineer partners closely with architecture, security, asset management, and operations teams to deliver reliable, compliant, and cost-effective IT solutions.LocationThis is a remote opportunity open to candidates located anywhere in the U.S.The Main Responsibilities<ul><li>Administer, optimize, and support Flexera One / FlexNet Manager Suite (FNMS), SaaS Manager, and related Software Asset Management (SAM) tooling.</li><li>FNMS Agent Administration, including deployment, configuration, monitoring, upgrades, and lifecycle management.</li><li>Collaborate with Software Asset Management (SAM), Security, and Compliance teams to ensure accurate inventory, license compliance, and audit readiness.</li><li>Design and maintain server and agent-based architectures to support performance, scalability, and compliance requirements.</li><li>Lead root cause analysis and resolution of complex infrastructure and agent-related incidents.</li><li>Serve as the technical lead for enterprise IT engineering initiatives, providing guidance, mentorship, and architectural direction.</li><li>Develop and enforce engineering standards, documentation, and operational runbooks.</li><li>Evaluate and implement automation opportunities to improve operational efficiency and system reliability.</li><li>Support change management activities, including impact analysis, testing, and deployment planning.</li><li>Assist in driving roadmap planning, technology evaluations, and proof-of-concept initiatives.</li></ul>What We Look For in a Candidate<ul><li>Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.</li><li>Minimum of 10+ years of professional software engineering experience in IT infrastructure or systems engineering roles.</li><li>Demonstrated hands-on expertise in SAM Tool Administration, including inventory, reconciliation, reporting, and integrations.</li><li>Strong experience with Server Agent Administration across all variations of Windows and Linux environments.</li><li>Deep understanding of server infrastructure, operating systems, and enterprise monitoring tools.</li><li>Experience supporting large-scale, distributed environments.</li><li>Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex, cross-platform issues.</li><li>Proficiency with scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).</li><li>Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.</li><li>Experience working with ITSM processes (incident, problem, change, and configuration management).</li><li>Act as a trusted technical advisor and escalation point.</li><li>Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.</li><li>Demonstrate ownership, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Experience with Software Asset Management (SAM) and IT Asset Management (ITAM) practices.</li><li>Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and hybrid environments.</li><li>Experience with configuration management and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, SCCM, Intune, Chef, or Puppet).</li></ul>CompensationThis information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Position Description & Qualifications The Army PPB BOS program is seeking a 100% Remote Information Specialist to lead documentation and knowledge management for software development teams. The candidate shall own the creation, organization, and maintenance of system documentation, knowledge bases that support developers, testers, and government stakeholders. In this role, you will: + Develop, maintain and continuously improve project documentation, including user guides, admin guides, test plans, release notes, SOP, user acceptance test cases + Work closely with developers, testers, and product owners to capture technical details and translate them into clear, accurate documentation + Design and maintain a structured knowledgebase to ensure project information is easy to find and traceable + Participate as a collaborative team member in Agile lifecycle and activities + Be expected to complete tasks in a fast-paced, results driven environment. To be successful in this role, you will have: + US citizenship + An Active DoD Secret clearance + A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or relevant field + 3 years of documentation and knowledge management experience in supporting software development + Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining technical documentation + Experience organizing and managing large volumes of information, including developing logical structures, file/metadata file, etc. + Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to details and consistency + The ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
