Conduct routine checks of campus grounds and buildings to identify unauthorized persons, unauthorized entry, damaged or missing property, and other safety or security concerns; Report observed safety, security, maintenance, or property concerns to the Public Safety Shift Supervisor in a timely manner; Monitor closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras and alarm systems to identify suspicious activity, unauthorized access, or potential security concerns; Assist students, faculty, staff, and visitors by providing directions, general safety information, and assistance with university and building rules and procedures; Conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols of the Law School, including libraries, lecture halls, administrative offices, and other assigned areas; Inspect doors, windows, and other access points to identify potential security breaches or unsecured areas; Assist with maintaining a safe and orderly environment during routine operations, special events, and emergency situations; Direct traffic as needed to ensure the orderly and safe movement of pedestrians and vehicles; Respond appropriately to emergencies, remain calm under pressure, gather pertinent information, and promptly communicate information to the appropriate Public Safety personnel; Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned. Ability to observe, identify, and report safety and security concerns accurately and promptly; Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment during emergencies or other stressful situations; Ability to gather, document, and communicate relevant information effectively; Ability to direct traffic and assist in maintaining order in assigned areas; Ability to operate motor vehicles safely and responsibly; Possession of and ability to maintain a valid driver's license; Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with students, faculty, staff, visitors, supervisors, and coworkers; Ability to work independently and follow established university policies, procedures, and security protocols; Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and during special events or other periods of increased campus activity.
