Duties will include: Developing content for each issue of the agencys Conservationist magazine through writing, editing, refining, and reviewing copy; Working with solicited and unsolicited contributors, photographers, and artists in securing articles and images; Working with graphic designers on layout and design; Performing quality control with proofreading, fact-checking, text corrections, and design modifications; Receiving and reviewing proofs from printer, working with designers on color corrections, and reviewing text for corrections; Assisting with quality control issues by working closely with the contracted printer and representing the magazine while monitoring the printing process in printed proofs; Working with the business manager to prepare honorarium packages for contributors, including letters and invoices, and returning any items to contributors if appropriate; Overseeing Conservationist web presence, including serving as the Publication Bureau's Web Content Coordinator; Work closely with the staff on a coordinated approach to social media posts; Working with the business manager to prepare honorarium packages for contributors, including letters and invoices, and returning any items to contributors if appropriate; Working with Publications Bureau Director; Overseeing production of the digital edition of each issue of Conservationist magazine; Overseeing the production of Conservationist for Kids (C4K), an eight-page supplement to Conservationist magazine; and. An associates degree in media, new media, English, communications, journalism, broadcasting, public relations, films, TV productions, or digital marketing can substitute for two years of specialized experience; a bachelors in these fields can substitute for four years; and a masters degree in these fields can substitute for an additional year of specialized experience.
