Common cases seen include pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease exacerbation, diabetic ketoacidosis, hyperglycemic hyperosmolar state, alcohol withdrawal, gastrointestinal bleeding, sepsis, pulmonary embolism, urinary tract infections, and respiratory failure.
