As a Process Control Engineering Intern at Cleveland-Cliffs, the projects assigned will vary based on the intern’s education level and plant location, but will generally reflect the duties outlined below. As a Process Control Engineering Intern at Cleveland-Cliffs, the projects assigned will vary based on the intern’s education level and plant location, but will generally reflect the duties outlined below. Summary of Responsibilities: + Software development in a variety of programming languages and on a variety of hardware platforms + Maintenance of computer hardware and software + Maintenance and problem solving of all aspects of the automation system + Modifications to the automation system to adapt to new products and processes + Address issues that may impact production or system reliability + Process modeling for mill processes of a chemical, metallurgical and mechanical nature + Administration of a variety of Operating Systems and relational databases on workstations and servers + Work with complex measurement systems, such as: + Vision systems for product quality + Thermal imaging temperature measurements + RFID and barcode tag reading for product identification + X-ray, nuclear gauges, and other gauging systems + Work with networking technologies, high-speed data transmission, and specialty interfaces + Close coordination with a production department + Respond to routine and emergency requests + Manage local area project, task, and priority lists + Make recommendations for system and process improvements + Work with vendors on products and performance issues + Coordinating with Research and Development and other staff departments Minimum Qualifications: + Enrollment in Bachelor of Science program in the field of Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related technical degree + Completion of sophomore year of study by the su mmer of 2026 Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
