In this role you will provide pre-scheduled telephonic (over-the-phone) interpreting services to the state of Oregon's Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH). This is a 100% remote position.The following languages are in demand: ARABIC, CANTONESE, FARSI, KOREAN, MANDARIN, OROMO, RUSSIAN, SPANISH, UKRAINIAN, & VIETNAMESEIf your language is not listed above, you are encouraged to apply if you meet ALL of the minimum requirements listed below.Candidates shall be able to provide:<ul><li>Experience with over-the-phone interpretation between a state government representative and non-English speakers.</li><li>Polite forms of expression, enunciation, and a high-level of customer service. </li><li>Deliver correct concepts and meanings between speaker and the Limited English Proficient (LEP) speaker.</li><li>Correct grammar, clarity and tones between English and your native language.</li><li>Experience with following the speakers’ direction, professionally interject when clarification is needed, and manage the flow of a conversation.  </li><li>Refrain from side conversations with the LEP speaker or entering into any disagreement with the customer or LEP speaker.</li><li>Compliance with applicable ethics and standards.</li></ul>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - You must meet ALL of the following:<ul><li>Court-certified or Court-registered - you will be asked to provide your credentials.</li><li><ul><li>Preference will be given to interpreters who hold certification from the Oregon Judicial Department or can demonstrate possession of court interpreting Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs).</li></ul></li><li>Agree to preliminary and full criminal history background checks and fingerprinting, e.g. Oregon State Police, Court Language Access Services (CLAS).</li><li>Strong understanding of legal hearing procedures.</li><li>At least one (1) year of experience doing telephonic (over-the-phone) interpretation in a legal/courts setting.</li><li>Two (2) professional references who can confirm your profession as a legal interpreter.</li><li>Minimum age: Must be 18+ years or older.</li><li>Minimum education: Must have High School Diploma.</li><li>Location: Must live in the United States.</li><li>Full fluency in English and your native language.</li></ul>DESIRED SKILLS:Professional appearance, polite demeanor and punctual.SECURITY REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must undergo criminal history background check(s) and fingerprinting.

Works at the Writing Center during scheduled hours providing instructional support to students on an individual, drop-in basis to help with any aspect of writing related to LBCC course work. Essential Duties: <ol><li>Provides assistance to students at the Writing Center with writing assignments or writing-related course work or projects. </li><li>Helps students interpret and develop strategies for assignments and course requirements. </li><li>Assesses students' needs. Offers a variety of approaches or methods to help students with their writing and revising. </li><li>Encourages students and promotes a supportive learning environment at the Writing Center. Promotes students' self-reliance, mastery of grammar, composing, revising, and editing skills. </li><li>Maintains current and adequate supply of instructional materials as directed by Writing Assistants and Writing Center Coordinatort. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers. Requires well developed listening and speaking ability sufficient to carry on routine conversations. Work is performed in an open lab setting in the Library with minimal exposure to health and safety hazards. Education and Experience Applications are reviewed for minimum qualifications.
