Other duties may be assigned.<ol><li>In conjunction with Procurement, develops and manages efficient acquisition systems for items managed by Materials Handling (MH).</li><li>Develops and maintains systems which assure the accuracy of perpetual inventory counts and inventory locator systems to facilitate easy retrieval for all items.</li><li>Develops and maintains reorder management systems (to include the application of par levels and min/max parameters) to assure a high level of customer service while minimizing inventory levels.</li><li>Develops materials cost and inventory reduction programs and provides data to measure progress towards cost reduction targets.</li><li>Develops and analyzes reports (i.e., ABC analysis, usage history, etc.) to target efforts to maximize inventory efficiencies</li><li>Conducts the year-end physical inventory and other periodic inventory counts as necessary.</li><li>Develops and maintains performance standards for materials systems.</li><li>Provides inventory management expertise hospital-wide.</li><li>Assures that the daily operational needs for supplies and equipment are met.</li><li>Ascertains daily order requirements through Lawson recommendations, physical counts, and personal observation.</li><li>Has budgetary signature authority and places orders for needed items on a daily basis.</li><li>Serves as a member of the buying team for items managed by MH to coordinate with Procurement, vendors, and hospital to make purchasing decisions for special situations (product back orders, urgent/emergent needs, unusual patient requirements, etc.</li><li>Coordinates special deliveries from vendors or borrowing from other hospitals for items which are in short supply for any reason (back orders, usage spikes, unique patient specific needs, etc.).</li><li>Maintains competencies and serves as back up in the absence of other Materials Management Inventory Control Analysts.</li><li>Assists the director in developing and monitoring budget cost centers as assigned by the director.</li><li>Maintains proficiency in the use of Lawson/Crystal and coordinates with the Application System Analyst to assure that the Lawson database is maintained in a current and accurate manner.</li><li>Maintains necessary accounting knowledge and coordinates with Finance to assure that all necessary financial matters handled appropriately (perpetual inventory reconciliation, Lawson/GL interface, manual billings, etc.</li><li>Provides reports through Lawson, Crystal or electronic spreadsheets as requested.</li><li>Assists in training other personnel (Materials Handling Attendants, Inventory Control Analysts, etc.) with respect to inventory management and other related Lawson functions.</li><li>Serves on Value Analysis and other hospital committees as assigned.</li></ol>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
