Preference will be shown to candidates expressing interest in teaching courses with a more regional or comparative (e.g., East Asia-wide) focus and which complement existing EALC department offerings, a demonstrated track record conducting research using Japanese-language sources, and interest in contributing to the mission of 21JPSI. Hamilton Lugar's EALC department boasts a robust and multidisciplinary Japan studies program, including faculty teaching on cinema, foreign affairs, history, language pedagogy, literature, music, religion, society, and visual culture.
