ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Patrols assigned areas to maintain a visible police presence; searches for suspicious, hazardous, or criminal activity; conducts field interviews of suspected offenders; and makes arrests. Conducts traffic accident investigations by investigating collision scenes, obtaining statements from involved parties and witnesses, directing or controlling traffic as necessary, and completing and filing accident reports.
