How you'll make an impact in this role:
<ul><li>Proactive Surveillance: Conduct continuous monitoring and high-visibility patrols (foot and vehicle) to deter, detect, and respond to potential security threats within the campus.</li><li>Incident Management: Investigates and documents security breaches, hazardous conditions, and physical altercations, ensuring all incidents are managed according to facility policy.</li><li>Disaster Response: Maintain expert-level knowledge of emergency codes, alarm systems, and disaster preparedness plans.</li><li>Public Assistance: Serve as a primary point of contact for visitors and staff, providing information and assistance to promote a culture of safety and service excellence.  </li></ul>

What minimum qualifications you'll need:
Licensure / Certification / Registration:<ul><li>Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.</li><li>BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.</li><li>Law Enforcement preferred.</li><li>Management of Aggressive Behavior credentialed from the Management of Aggressive Behavior Training International, Inc preferred.</li><li>Security Professional preferred.</li><li>Security Guard preferred.</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.<ul><li>Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.</li></ul></li></ul>

What additional requirements you'll need:
<ul><li>Security, Law Enforcement, or Military experience preferred.</li><li>Conflict resolution experience is a plus.</li></ul>

K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.<h2>What You'll Need to Succeed</h2>Minimum Qualifications:<ul><li>Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent). Hearing must be correctable to a range that will allow normal radio and telephone conversation with field units. Vision must be correctable to a range that will allow reading of computer display terminals, maps and printouts quickly and accurately. Must be free of felony convictions.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>Prior first responder (law enforcement, fire, or emergency medical services) dispatching experience is preferred.</li><li>Ability to handle high pressure and stressful situations which will require the employee to make rapid independent decisions.</li><li>Ability to write effectively, read and comprehend critical information, and have above average communication skills.</li><li>Prior Public Relations experience preferred due to the high volume of public interaction.</li><li>24 hours of college credit.</li><li>Possess strong computer skills to work in a paperless environment.</li><li>Able to pass NCIC test for certification within 6 months of employment.
