The Opportunity We are seeking a personable and energetic Receptionist/Legal Assistant to create a warm, welcoming first impression for potential clients and visitors in our Lake Charles office. This role provides essential support to our Litigation Paralegals and is ideal for a genuine, hospitable individual who excels at communicating with people from all cultures and backgrounds. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent verbal communication, polished phone etiquette, confidentiality, integrity and exceptional guest-relations skills, ensuring every visitor enjoys a positive and gratifying experience. We are looking for an organized, detail-oriented multi-tasker who can manage assignments efficiently and support the litigation team with accuracy and efficiency. Objective Serve clients creating a professional, warm, and welcoming first impression, and support the Litigation Paralegals during the litigation phase of all assigned matters. Desired Outcomes <ol><li> Accountable to provide the best possible customer service to our clients and act as their advocate when working with any third parties as directed by Litigation Paralegals. <ul><li>Welcome clients, vendors, job applicants, and other visitors in a warm and friendly manner as soon as they arrive and connect them with the appropriate party. </li><li>Offer visitors a refreshment while they wait. </li><li>Maintain cleanliness of lobby. </li><li>Clean and organize conference rooms after meetings. </li><li>Ensure that front area is covered when stepping away from lobby. </li><li>Maintain cleanliness and stock of kitchen, restroom, and other common areas. </li><li>Contact and meet with clients as directed, such as new clients/intakes. </li><li>Contact third parties such as medical providers and insurance companies on behalf of the client. </li></ul></li><li> Accountable to ensure that all matters assigned by Litigation Paralegals are handled as quickly, accurately, and thoughtfully as possible. <ul><li>Ensure all data is properly and accurately entered into client management software (Litify). </li><li>Organize, save, and file all matter related documents. </li><li>Draft, save, mail, fax, and/or email correspondence and supporting documents. </li><li>Assist with the preparation, filing, and service of pleadings. </li><li>Assist with discovery, including but not limited to, the preparation and completion of skeleton forms, assisting the Paralegal in gathering responding documents. </li><li>Assist with trial preparation, including the assembly of exhibits, witness binders, and appendices for depositions and court filings. </li><li>Keep track of cases expenses, including medical expenses, copy and postage charges, entering into client management software (Litify) for each client. </li><li>Assist in requesting Medicare and Medicaid liens. </li></ul></li><li>Accountable to provide Handling Attorney support as requested and as outlined in Litify Tasks. <ul><li>Timely response and completion of tasks assigned by Handling Attorney and/or Paralegal. </li><li>Timely completion of all Litify Matter tasks. </li></ul></li></ol> Skills/Abilities <ul><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills </li><li>Attention to detail and accuracy </li><li>Confidentiality and strong judgment </li><li>Problem analysis and problem-solving </li><li>Professionalism </li><li>High level of initiative and proactive nature </li><li>Willingness to perform any/all tasks as assigned by supervisor and/or firm leadership in support of the firm's growth and success </li></ul>Education and Experience<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent </li><li>Proficient in data entry and management </li><li>Previous experience within legal, medical, or insurance industry preferred </li><li>Strong computer and keyboarding experience </li></ul>Physical Requirements<ul><li>Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer </li><li>Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times </li></ul>The Perks of Being Part of Our Laborde Earles Community<ul><li>Optional companywide events allowing you to play as hard as you work, such as Crawfish Boils, Christmas parties, Retreats, and more! </li></ul><ul><li>Work-life balance is encouraged as we consider 36.5 hours your full-time requirement and we rarely exceed a 40-hour workweek.
