Knowledge and experience with discipline-specific information databases and other research resources Experience in research assistance via in-person, virtual reference, consultations, and teaching information literacy in higher education or comparable area Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills Ability or expertise supporting a diverse environment with co-workers, students, faculty, and the wider campus community Evidence of, or interest in, the pursuit of scholarly, creative, and professional activities Ability to balance core librarian duties with scholarly, creative, and professional growth activities and service Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends Preferred Qualifications Undergraduate or graduate degree in Ethnic Studies or related fields (e.g., African American Studies, Asian American Studies, Native American & Indigenous Studies, Chicana/o & Latinx Studies, Middle Eastern & North African Studies, Pacific Islander/Native Hawaiian Studies, Critical Race Studies, or other interdisciplinary Ethnic Studies areas). Lead the library team supporting Diversity Initiatives & Resource Centers (DIRC), serving as liaison to the centers as needed Work with the Collection Development & Management Librarian to identify and select materials in subject areas, and consult on accreditation reports Create and maintain online instructional materials and subject-specific content for the library website Take part in scholarly/creative activities and serve on department, library, professional, and university committees, as part of the required tenure and promotion process Contribute to library strategic initiatives, special projects, and other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Master's degree in library and/or information science from an ALA-accredited institution or equivalent institution by the time of appointment Academic background or demonstrated expertise in any of the disciplines within Ethnic Studies or related fields (e.g., African American Studies, Asian American Studies, Native American & Indigenous Studies, Chicana/o & Latinx Studies, Middle Eastern & North African Studies, Pacific Islander/Native Hawaiian Studies, Critical Race Studies, or other interdisciplinary Ethnic Studies areas).
