Job Title: Front-End Loader Operator – Concrete Batch PlantDepartment: Concrete OperationsReports To: Concrete Site Supervisor FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Position SummaryThe Front-End Loader Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a front-end loader to manage raw materials at the concrete batch plant. This position plays a critical role in maintaining consistent material flow for concrete production while supporting overall plant operations. The successful candidate must be dependable, safety-focused, and a strong team player who is willing to assist with a variety of plant-related duties as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities<ul><li style="vertical-align:baseline">Operate a front-end loader to load, unload, move, and stockpile aggregates and other materials used in concrete production</li><li style="vertical-align:baseline">Maintain proper material levels in bins and hoppers to support uninterrupted batching operations</li><li style="vertical-align:baseline">Perform routine daily equipment inspections and report mechanical, safety, or maintenance concerns promptly</li><li style="vertical-align:baseline">Keep the plant yard, material areas, and traffic paths clean, organized, and safe</li><li style="vertical-align:baseline">Assist with management of returned concrete and cleanup activities as directed</li><li style="vertical-align:baseline">Follow all company safety rules, OSHA guidelines, and environmental regulations at all times</li><li style="vertical-align:baseline">Communicate effectively with batch plant operators, truck drivers, supervisors, and other team members</li><li style="vertical-align:baseline">Support general plant operations, housekeeping, and maintenance activities as needed</li><li style="vertical-align:baseline">Assist other departments or plant personnel when required to support efficient facility operations</li><li style="vertical-align:baseline">Perform other duties as assigned or required based on operational needs of the facility</li></ul> Work Schedule and Availability <ul><li style="vertical-align:baseline">Ability to work irregular, extended, and weather-dependent hours typical of concrete production and delivery</li><li style="vertical-align:baseline">Availability for early mornings, late evenings, overtime, weekends, and occasional long or split days</li><li style="vertical-align:baseline">Work hours may change with little notice due to job demands, equipment issues, weather conditions, or peak delivery periods</li><li style="vertical-align:baseline">Flexibility and reliability are essential to support the concrete delivery operation</li></ul> Qualifications<ul><li style="vertical-align:baseline">Previous experience operating a front end loader in a construction materials, aggregate, mining, or ready mix concrete environment preferred.</li><li style="vertical-align:baseline">Knowledge of safe equipment operation and material handling practices</li><li style="vertical-align:baseline">Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions</li><li style="vertical-align:baseline">Strong attention to safety, detail, and equipment care</li><li style="vertical-align:baseline">Reliable attendance and punctuality</li></ul> Equal Opportunity EmployerSorrento Lumber & Concrete is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
