Benefits: <ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Tuition assistance</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul> <h1>Consumer Loan Processor</h1>SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: Provide information on credit union products and services according to all credit union policies and procedures and Federal and State rules and regulations.  Responsible for evaluating applicants for routine loans, and processing loan applications.  Gather background information and analyze loan applicant's credit history.   Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. <ul><li>Pull credit reports for all accounts, verify debts, and estimate monthly payments for any outstanding debts not listed and add them to debts on application.</li><li>Calculate debt to income ratios on loan applicants.</li><li>Complete loan applications over the phone and/or electronically.</li><li>Review active loan files each day to determine if any documents are missing or what can be done to help the process along.</li><li>Communicate with members either to request or to provide information.</li><li>Review incoming loan applications to verify required information is compliant with checklist.</li><li>When a loan is denied, explain reasons for denial in a professional, courteous manner. Work with member to provide recommendations or alternative options for other possible ways to secure a loan in the future.</li><li>Verify the accuracy of loan amounts and repayment terms on approved loan applications.</li><li>Complete loan documents and disburse loans when needed.</li><li>Implement new loan products and services in accordance with management direction.</li><li>Cross sell lending and other credit union products.</li><li>Maintain orderly files on each account with special attention to complete and accurate detailing of all problems or correspondence.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>Competencies: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY Performs a wide range of activities related to the issuing of credit and maintaining lending relationships. Activities include completing of loan papers and legal documents, disbursing loan proceeds, receiving loan payments and maintenance of monitoring systems. Duties can also include greeting customers, answering telephone, typing, filing and other delegated duties under the supervision of the branch manager as required to maintain the day-to-day operations of the branch office. RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES <ul><li>Prepares and checks basic loan papers including applications, supporting papers, commitments, and closing papers. Processes loans daily, checking accounting accuracy and adherence to policy and procedures. May close loans and disburse proceeds to borrowers.</li><li>Ensures that existing and potential member/borrowers receive prompt, courteous service, and provides general information as to policies and procedures.</li><li>Assists in posting and depositing incoming payments, including all necessary accounting reports and disbursement of loan funds.</li><li>Completes routine secretarial duties such as scheduling, typing, filing, organizing, and handling association correspondence; assists in preparation of required branch office reports.</li><li>Assists in ensuring that required collateral insurance, current financing statements, and other required time-critical items (such as association collection policy) are properly maintained.</li><li>Other miscellaneous duties related to the overall function of the Association.</li></ul>REQUIRED EXPERIENCE High school education or GED equivalent with at least (2) two years of specialized secretarial training or equivalent experience. Must be able to perform most duties under moderate supervision and exercise a reasonable amount of judgment. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE Strong preference for experience with legal document preparation and/or monitoring of time sensitive functions.
