<h3>Essex Junction Parks & Recreation is seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused professional to serve as our Customer Service Specialist. This role is the front line of our department, supporting residents, participants, and visitors while helping ensure smooth day-to-day operations.<br/><br/>The ideal candidate brings a positive attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and a willingness to assist the public across a variety of needs. After that, you are only responsible for the next 20%, which is not more than $600 for single plans and no more than $1200 for all other plans for covered medical expenses.</li><li style="margin-left:16px;margin-bottom:11px">100% employer paid for dental and vision</li><li style="margin-left:16px;margin-bottom:11px">100% employer paid short-term disability and life insurance</li><li style="margin-left:16px;margin-bottom:11px">Qualified Employer for Public Service Student Loan Forgiveness Program</li></ul><b>What You’ll Do</b><ul style="margin-bottom:11px"><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Provide high-quality customer service in person, by phone, and via email</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Assist with program and event registrations, facility passes, and memberships</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Help customers navigate online registration systems and household accounts</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Process daily transactions, receipts, and postal mail</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Maintain accurate records and support administrative needs across the department</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Work closely with the Business Coordinator to balance receipts and support financial tracking</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Assist with recreation software updates, program listings, and registration setup</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Manage facility schedules and support reservations</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Serve as a point of contact for vendors and contractors for park and facility needs</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Communicate with internal departments, staff, and the public to ensure smooth coordination</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Provide backup support for Business Coordinator duties as needed</li></ul><b>What You’ll Bring</b><ul style="margin-bottom:11px"><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Strong customer service skills and a commitment to providing a positive experience</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Ability to communicate clearly (written and verbal) with a wide range of audiences</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Comfort working independently and exercising sound judgment</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general office systems (experience with RecTrac or similar systems is a plus)</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Ability to handle confidential financial and personnel information with discretion</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Flexibility to work varied hours as needed</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Valid Vermont driver’s license with a good driving record</li></ul><b>Minimum Qualifications</b><ul style="margin-bottom:11px"><li style="margin-bottom:11px">High school diploma or equivalent</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Coursework or experience in office procedures and customer service</li></ul>We also welcome candidates with equivalent combinations of education and experience.<br/><b>Preferred Qualifications</b><ul style="margin-bottom:11px"><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Experience in municipal government, parks and recreation, or a related field</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Two years of experience in administrative support, recreation programming, or a similar role</li></ul><b>Additional Requirements</b><ul style="margin-bottom:11px"><li style="margin-bottom:11px">American Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain)</li></ul><p><b>Why Join EJRP?</b><br/>Be part of a team that supports community wellness, connection, and recreation for all ages.
