Develops, implements, and evaluates appropriate care plans for patients demonstrating an understanding of prescribed modalities available; utilizes the team approach when assessing patient needs and developing a plan of care by conferring with patient, family, nurses, technicians, nephrologists, physicians, and dietitians when appropriate. Performs all tasks necessary for the safe, smooth, and efficient operation of the unit – this may include, but not limited to, set-up, reuse, trash removal, water check, opening and closing of the unit, mixing bicarbonate and acid baths, cleaning machines and stations, bath distribution, and all other responsibilities as directed by the Nurse Manager.
