p>Additional Accountabilities: • Operating equipment to verify operational efficiency • Design fixtures, tooling, and/or experimental parts to meet engineering needs • Understand machine setup instructions to be able to establish work procedures for fabricating new structural products using a variety of metalworking machines • Evaluate experimental procedures and recommend changes/modifications for improved efficiency for setup and production • Set controls to regulate machining and enter commands to retrieve input and/or edit computerized machine control media.
The Manual Machinist Tool and Die Maker sets up and operates a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments, applying knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
