Key responsibilities: Prepare surfaces using sanding, grinding, stripping, or blasting methods Apply coatings, including paint, primers, sealers, and finishes to structural surfaces Work on metal, concrete, and other non-residential materials Perform repairs to wood and structural components, including doors, frames, and fixtures Patch, fill, and seal cracks, joints, and damaged areas Remove and reinstall fixtures and hardware as needed for proper surface access Mix and match coatings to achieve specified finishes and durability requirements Erect and work from ladders or scaffolding as needed Read work orders and determine materials and work requirements Calculate material needs and support job planning.
3+ years of experience in commercial or structural painting (examples: facilities, bridges, infrastructure, industrial environments) Experience preparing and coating metal, concrete, or structural surfaces Ability to perform surface prep, repairs, and finishing work in field environments Experience using hand tools, power tools, and painting equipment Background in facilities, construction, or infrastructure maintenance Basic carpentry or structural repair experience Valid drivers license with a clean record.
