Required Licensure/Certifications: REQUIRED LICENSE(S): • Radiographer NH (MIRT1060) OR Radiation Therapist NH (MIRT1057) OR Medical Imaging/Rad Ther - NH (MIRT1001)REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS: • Radiologic Technologist - Mammography (RT - M) within 365 days Qualifications: Graduate of a Radiology Technology training program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JCERT).

Overview:
<div>Provides diagnostic imaging services according to accepted standards and protocols and assures patient safety during procedures.</div>

Responsibilities:
<div><p><strong><u>General Diagnostic Procedures: </u></strong></p><ul><li>Performs all mammography examinations following policies and procedures established by the department.</li><li>Prepares and positions patients for mammograms.</li><li>Provides care and communication to patients before, during and after the procedure.</li><li>Uses all equipment properly and in a manner that minimizes hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation to patients.</li><li>Uses radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of all patients and staff.</li><li>Explains procedures and responds to questions appropriately.</li><li>Ensures that all images are clear and of good diagnostic quality, adjusting equipment as necessary.</li><li>Documents patient history, including any relevant information which might affect the interpretation of the mammogram.</li><li>Maintain and cleans the mammography equipment with the appropriate solutions.</li><li>Communicates any pertinent information with radiologists and other healthcare professionals as necessary.</li><li>Maintains working knowledge of the PAC’s System.</li><li>Maintains a clean and orderly environment.</li></ul><p><strong><u>Special Diagnostic Testing:</u></strong></p><ul><li>Demonstrates competency in performing all procedures and use of the equipment for Mammography, as appropriate and assigned.</li><li>Keeps dose as low as possible to achieve diagnostic exam.</li></ul><p><strong><u>Administrative:</u></strong></p><ul><li>Uses computer to access reports, medical history, prior imaging, etc.</li><li>Follows protocols for releasing of images and obtaining prior imaging studies.</li><li>Assists with administrative responsibilities of the department to include scheduling appointments, answering the phone, etc.</li><li>Performs all quality controls procedures weekly in the absence of the QC technologist.</li><li>Maintains licensing and continuing education credits.</li><li>Able to teach/aid students and new staff.</li></ul></div>

Qualifications:
<div><ul><li>Graduate of a Radiology Technology training program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JCERT)</li><li>Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent.</li><li>Certification in Mammography</li><li>0-1 year of experience</li><li>Hospital experience preferred</li></ul></div>
