With 90 employees and steady growth, this role is central to maintaining our financial health and supporting our long-term vision. About the RoleThe Director of Finance oversees all financial operations across multiple entities, manages a team of four (including HR), and ensures accurate, timely financial reporting. This leader will guide budgeting and forecasting, maintain banking and tax relationships, and ensure strong internal controls. The role is hands-on, especially with month-end close and accounting systems. Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Lead and mentor a finance team of three Finance Specialists plus HR.</li><li>Oversee all accounting functions, including AP, AR application, payroll oversight, and general ledger accuracy.</li><li>Manage month-end and year-end closings in E-Automate; support QuickBooks for subsidiary companies.</li><li>Maintain and monitor cash flow reporting; review regularly with the President/CEO.</li><li>Partner with leadership on annual budgets, forecasts, and company-wide financial goals.</li><li>Coordinate with external tax accountants and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.</li><li>Manage banking relationships and support financing needs.</li><li>Participate in strategic planning, including evaluation of growth opportunities and potential M&A activity.</li><li>Ensure HR operations run smoothly, including compliance, benefits administration, and employee support.</li><li>Maintain and improve internal financial processes, controls, and reporting systems.</li></ul> Qualifications<ul><li>5+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience (flexible depending on candidate strength).</li><li>Experience in a multi-entity environment preferred.</li><li>CPA or MBA preferred.</li><li>Strong knowledge of accounting systems; experience with E-Automate and QuickBooks is a plus.</li><li>Demonstrated leadership experience managing finance teams.</li><li>Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing, family-owned business.</li><li>Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with executive leadership.</li></ul> Benefits<ul><li>401 (k) with company match</li><li>Health insurance with partial employer contribution</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Stable, long-standing company with a family-oriented culture and continuous growth since 1992.</li><li>On-site work environment in Warwick, RI</li></ul> Why join Automated Business Solutions?We're a family-owned company that values long-term relationships, steady growth, and a collaborative environment. This role combines strategic oversight of manufacturing documentation and compliance processes with direct involvement in contract quoting, proposal development, and customer relationship management. The ideal candidate has a strong background in technical manufacturing and government contracting, combined with solid business acumen, exceptional process management skills, and a customer-oriented mindset. This role will be instrumental in driving operational excellence while contributing to revenue generation and contract growth. Key Responsibilities: Operational & Process Management:</div><ul><li>Team Leadership: Manage and mentor Contracts Process Engineer(s), ensuring accurate and efficient conversion of contract requirements into manufacturing documentation and routings.</li><li>Process Standardization: Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support contract execution, manufacturing documentation, and compliance.</li><li>Workflow Optimization: Continuously identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and accuracy of internal processes using Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.</li><li>Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate collaboration across engineering, production, procurement, quality, and compliance teams to ensure contract deliverables are met on time and within scope.</li></ul><div> Sales & Contract Management:</div><ul><li>Quoting & Proposal Development: Lead or support the preparation of technical and cost proposals, including manufacturing process estimates, labor routing, and pricing strategies.</li><li>Contract Award Support: Serve as a key participant in contract negotiations and award discussions with customers, ensuring accurate representation of capabilities and requirements.</li><li>Customer Relationship Management: Act as a primary point of contact for customers (government and commercial) regarding contract requirements, clarifications, and performance updates.</li><li>Revenue Forecasting: Collaborate with sales and finance to provide accurate forecasts and track contract pipeline, awards, and execution status.</li></ul><div> Compliance & Documentation:</div><ul><li>Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all processes and documents comply with relevant government regulations (FAR, DFARS, ITAR) and quality standards.</li><li>Contract Modifications: Manage and implement changes resulting from contract modifications, ensuring timely updates to documentation and internal systems.</li><li>Audit & Quality Support: Maintain accurate records and documentation for internal reviews, government audits, and quality assurance initiatives.</li></ul><div> Qualifications:</div><ul><li>Education:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Business Operations, or a related field.
