Diagnose, inspect and perform servicing to a wide variety of light, medium and heavy equipment such as automobiles, trucks, backhoes, loaders, waste handlers, crawler dozer, crawler loaders, articulated dump trucks, 4 wheel drive loaders, skid steers, motor graders, submersible pumps, leachate pumps, sump drainers, front-end loaders, mechanical sweepers, flushers, pump-oriented water tanks, vehicles that haul heavy loads and or tow equipment with or without a trailer; compactors, scraper pans, tractor-type construction equipment, aerial truck hydraulic systems, and other types of heavy earth moving equipment. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic, under the direction of the Manager, Fleet and Grounds Maintenance, is responsible for performing highly skilled mechanical work in the maintenance and repair of diversified heavy, earthmoving, construction equipment, automotive trucks and automated side loaders, front loaders, roll offs, and rear loader trucks.
