The incumbent should demonstrate qualities of an effective nurse mentor including strong home health knowledge, organizational skills and time management, goal orientation, ability to collaborate with Orientee/Nurse Resident to develop a beneficial learning plan, strong interpersonal skills the ability to maintain composure at all times, be encouraging and non-judgmental and the ability to receive feedback, and be well versed on many topics of home health care. Conduct supervisory visits with the nursing staff to observe the home interaction and ensure that all quality indicators are being met, including; medication reconciliation, wound care (proper assessment, measuring and correct treatment), pain assessment, adherence to infection control practices, home safety assessment, and family satisfaction.
