This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.  RESPONSIBILITIES: Reviews customer contract specifications, drawings and code requirements to determine the welding requirements for procedure and personnel qualifications in accordance with project specific requirements. <ul style="list-style-position:inside;list-style-type:disc"><li class="ck-list-marker-font-size ck-list-marker-color ck-list-marker-font-family">Initiate procurement action by preparing and processing purchase orders for all weld material tests and all welder performance and procedure qualification sample testing</li><li class="ck-list-marker-font-size ck-list-marker-color ck-list-marker-font-family">Develop and qualify welding procedure specifications (WPS) and related procedure qualification records (PQR). Set up and maintain master weld program files</li><li class="ck-list-marker-font-size ck-list-marker-color ck-list-marker-font-family">Set up and maintain record of welder or welding operator qualification tests for each welder s qualification file</li><li class="ck-list-marker-font-size ck-list-marker-color ck-list-marker-font-family">Prepare and issue/maintain operator qualification matrix and training schedules</li><li class="ck-list-marker-font-size ck-list-marker-color ck-list-marker-font-family">Assist in Engineering, Quality and Estimating departments with any technical issues regarding welding and fabrication requirements for projects</li><li class="ck-list-marker-font-size ck-list-marker-color ck-list-marker-font-family">Apply knowledge of production specifications, properties and characteristics of metals and metal alloys to develop welding techniques, procedures, and application of welding equipment to problems involving fabrication of metals</li><li class="ck-list-marker-font-size ck-list-marker-color ck-list-marker-font-family">Develop and test new fabrication processes and procedures, improve existing or develop new welding equipment, develop new or modify current welding methods, techniques, and procedures</li><li class="ck-list-marker-font-size ck-list-marker-color ck-list-marker-font-family">Identify and evaluate latest welding equipment, materials and techniques for possible application to shop welding practices or production processes</li><li class="ck-list-marker-font-size ck-list-marker-color ck-list-marker-font-family">Serve as customer contact for technical issues regarding welding requirements</li><li class="ck-list-marker-font-size ck-list-marker-color ck-list-marker-font-family">Evaluates new developments in welding field for possible application to current welding problems or production processes</li><li class="ck-list-marker-font-size ck-list-marker-color ck-list-marker-font-family">Directs and coordinates technical personnel in performing inspections to quality requirements are achieved and maintained in compliance with established welding procedures and standards in testing welds for conformance with national code requirements; or testing welding personnel for certification</li></ul>  EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: <ul style="list-style-position:inside;list-style-type:disc"><li class="ck-list-marker-font-size ck-list-marker-color ck-list-marker-font-family">Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical / Materials Engineering, or Welding / Materials Engineering Technology with additional relevant experience</li><li class="ck-list-marker-font-size ck-list-marker-color ck-list-marker-font-family">Minimum of 10 years welding related experience, including welding metallurgy experience, in automotive manufacturing environment</li><li class="ck-list-marker-font-size ck-list-marker-color ck-list-marker-font-family">Robotic Welding Experience is Required (example; ABB, Motoman, etc.)</li><li class="ck-list-marker-font-size ck-list-marker-color ck-list-marker-font-family">Understanding of electrical controls circuitry and schematics</li><li class="ck-list-marker-font-size ck-list-marker-color ck-list-marker-font-family">Working knowledge of MIG and Resistance Welding processes. AHSS steels and HFI experience is a plus</li><li class="ck-list-marker-font-size ck-list-marker-color ck-list-marker-font-family">Results oriented, Ability to take a hands on approach with strong decision making and problem solving skills</li><li class="ck-list-marker-font-size ck-list-marker-color ck-list-marker-font-family">Ability to work will with others, organized with good communication skills in a fast paced work environment</li><li class="ck-list-marker-font-size ck-list-marker-color ck-list-marker-font-family">AWS Certification is a plus</li><li class="ck-list-marker-font-size ck-list-marker-color ck-list-marker-font-family">Read and interpret documents and statures from jurisdictional agencies and governmental units, procedure manuals, and specification manuals.  </li><li class="ck-list-marker-font-size ck-list-marker-color ck-list-marker-font-family">Ability to write instructions, plant operating procedures, and routine reports and correspondence.  </li><li class="ck-list-marker-font-size ck-list-marker-color ck-list-marker-font-family">Speak effectively before groups of customers, regulatory agencies, and employees of the organization.</li><li class="ck-list-marker-font-size ck-list-marker-color ck-list-marker-font-family">Work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply basic concepts of physical science.</li><li class="ck-list-marker-font-size ck-list-marker-color ck-list-marker-font-family">Ability to apply common sense understanding and create instructions from technical data or statutes furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Interpret and apply regulations and procedures to situations.</li></ul>  TO APPLY: If you are a high performer and would like to work for an equally high performing company and you think the above opportunity is appropriate for you, we invite you to submit your resume in Microsoft Word format to: GHubbard@Venteon.com We treat all resumes with strict confidentiality.
